We recently had 15 kittens born at the shelter (not available for adoption yet, so we are not accepting applications at this time ALSO not available for public viewing) so we need to stock up on canned kitten food!

Clarabelle is a little 3-4 year-old gal who is looking for her furever home!

Although Clarabelle recently came to BCHS from a cruelty case, she is an absolute sweetheart! She is a loveable little lap dog who has so much love to give!

She gets along with cats, dogs and kids! A home with someone who is home most of the time would be best for Clarabelle. Children must be old enough to understand that small dogs need to be handled with care.

Meet the IMNOTWHATTHEYSAYIAM Gang!!

Pepper is a Harlequin Great Dane, and Bean Dip and Mya are Boxer litter mates. Pepper did not arrive with Bean Dip and Mya, but all of these dogs have something in common: the people who brought these dogs in said that they were strays. And as it turned out, the people actually owned these dogs!

Now, before all of you naysayers start with your comments about us being full and unable to take your dogs, and how terrible we are, etc., etc., LISTEN UP!!

We do not appreciate being lied to. Our staff does not appreciate, nor do they deserve to be cussed out for asking questions. Our jobs are hard enough. But the worst part is that these dogs deserved better. If you would have told us that they were your dogs, we could have gotten crucial information to help them find homes. Are these dogs good with children? What are their likes, dislikes. What are they afraid of?

PLEASE UNDERSTAND that when this is done, you’re doing a major disservice to the pet that, at one time, you pledged to take care of.

Like most of the other shelters/rescues, we are full! We have a waiting list. Anyone is more than welcome to come and volunteer to learn what is involved in rescue and to see if you can help us find any extra space to put more dogs and cats.

Pepper, Mya and Bean Dip are all available for adoption. We are still getting to know them, but what we do know is listed in the captions.

OUR 2025 EASTER EGG-STRAVAGANZA WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!

THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported us on Saturday! With over 6,000 eggs, it was the biggest Easter Egg Hunt for us yet!

Next year's Easter Egg-stravaganza will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 (mark your calendars)! We are hoping to make it even better next year!!
