Sheeba is our Cat of the Month at the League and she truly deserves the spotlight. By sharing her story with more people, we hope she will find the loving home she has been waiting for while also helping to spread awareness about the importance of never declawing cats. Her journey is a powerful reminder that compassionate, informed choices can make a lifelong difference for our kitties and their quality of life. 🤍

Grey Cash is an absolute natural in front of the camera. It is nearly impossible to take him for a walk without ending up in an impromptu photoshoot 📸

This handsome guy came to us from South Carolina in early September, and we genuinely cannot understand how he is still here. He is such a great dog!

Even though he gives off total old man vibes, Grey Cash is only 3 years old. He is fantastic with people, great with kids, and friendly with other dogs. Cats, however, are not his thing 😬

Grey Cash is the definition of a House Hippo. He is always down for an adventure, but he is equally happy soaking up cuddles and enjoying some lazy downtime. He is an incredibly fun dog who truly deserves a home of his own and has no business still being at the League. 🐾

Evangeline is truly a majestic girl, and she has been at the League since April and we honestly have no idea why.😕

She is one of the most overlooked kitties, and it makes no sense. Evangeline is incredibly sweet and content to take life at her own pace. She may not be the first cat to rush the door when you walk in, but she absolutely loves affection. Just minutes before this photo was taken, she was happily making biscuits.

At 9 years old, Evangeline is an older gal with so much love left to give. No cat should have to spend their golden years in a shelter, especially not one as gentle and loving as her.❤️

A little while ago, Noble came to us skin and bones. He was a stray who, thankfully, found his way to the League. As you can see in the first photo, he was in very rough shape.

That is absolutely not the case anymore. The Thompsons, an amazing family who dedicates so much time, effort, and love to the League, welcomed Noble into their home as a foster. In such a short time, he was completely spoiled and gained EIGHTEEN POUNDS!!!!

The Thompsons gave Noble the love and care he had been missing for far too long, and we are so grateful to them. We know Noble feels the same way.❤️

We have had NO adoptions at our partner pet stores 😢

We have so many adorable, sweet, and ready to adopt kitties who are just waiting for their chance to go home from their cozy cat condos.

At Petco in Amelia, we have TWO babies patiently waiting to be chosen. Handsome Kyrie is a male who is almost 6 years old, and our gorgeous Rosie is a female who is almost 7.

At Petco 5 Mile, Lady Pawsalot is suited up in her harness and ready to go. She is 6 years old, a total sweetheart, and was actually on hold but her people never showed up 😕

At Pet Supplies Plus in Milford, beautiful Aline is waiting for her forever family. She is 5 years old.

Last but not least, Faber is at Pet Supplies Plus in Blue Ash. She is only 5 years old and is the sweetest girl.

We have cats ALL over Cincinnati, so there are no excuses. Come meet your new best friend today before they come back to the shelter this weekend! 💗🐾

Just Simba and his emotional support hot dog. 🌭That’s all, you may proceed.

AMAZING UPDATE: This girl has been adopted and is being spoiled rotten in her forever home 💗

Gail is one gorgeous girl with the sweetest soul, even after such a sad and traumatic entrance to the League.

She came to us after being thrown, yes quite literally, from a moving vehicle on Ohio Pike. We are incredibly grateful to the good samaritan who witnessed this and made sure she was brought safely to us ❤️

Despite the fear and uncertainty of the last few days, Gail has been nothing but a light and a joy at the shelter. AND she’s so photogenic. I mean, look at her!

Bigger and better things are waiting for you, beautiful girl.

I think this should go without saying, but don’t dump your cat at an animal shelter. It’s illegal. However, this very thing happened yesterday so we thought we may as well use it as a learning opportunity!

We are not an open admission shelter. Each time an animal is adopted a spot is offered to a cat in need or a dog at another shelter that needs help. Animals dumped mean that another cat or dog may be pushed back until space is available even though we do our best to avoid that and help partners as much as possible, while handling emergency intakes and dumped animals.

Meet Big Mac. This *beautiful* girl was brought in by someone who claimed she was a stray in the neighborhood who had been coming around for a while. They claimed she had been pooping blood so they brought her in. Instead of signing paperwork, they “went to get their phone” from their car and fled the scene. OY VEY 🤦🏼‍♀️

We don’t believe she was an outside cat. She’s spayed without an ear tip, very clean coat, healthy weight, no mats in her fur, no sign of fleas or ear mites or ticks. They said she’s been having that bloody diarrhea for a month but there is not f***l matter on her rear end/in the fur nor signs of inflammation or irritation around her a**s.

The good news? This girl is safe now and we will help her find the best adopters for her who will give her the best life ever, just like she deserves ❤️

Happy New Year from all the pups, kitties, and staff at the League! 2026 is already shaping up to be an amazing year… but want to make it even better?

Meet Scone, the VERY LAST puppy at the League. Every one of his brothers and sisters has found a forever home, and now he’s left all by himself. Yes, our hearts are breaking too 😢

Scone is urgently looking for his hero! Adopt him and you’ll be rewarded with endless puppy breath kisses, nonstop cuddles, and a lifetime of love, laughs, and tail wags. Honestly, what more could you ask for?

While we’re closed today for the holiday, doors open tomorrow at 11:00 AM and Scone will be waiting, hopeful and ready to meet you.

Come save this sweet boy from loneliness and start your year with the best decision you’ll ever make. 🐾❤️

There’s Spotify Wrapped, but did you know about League Wrapped?! 🎶🐾

2025 was truly an incredible year all around. We reached meaningful milestones, celebrated so many amazing adoptions, helped countless animals come out of their shells, and gave a LOT of pets along the way.

Compared to 2024, we welcomed 236 more animals into our care and adopted out 337 more animals this year. That is a lot of lives changed for the better.

We are endlessly grateful for the support that made all of this possible. There is absolutely no way we could do what we do without our amazing volunteers, resilient fosters, and loving adopters.

We cannot wait to see what wonderful things 2026 brings. ❤️🐾

For the final day of “The Great Blur,” we couldn’t choose just one best day of the year. So, we picked the day that captured it all, when 44 adoptions happened in a single day ☺️

On Black Friday, we saw so many happy foster
fails from our Home for the Holidays program, along with countless people coming through our doors looking for their new best friend.

That day, an amazing number of cats and dogs went home to their forever families. It’s hard to imagine many days beating that one 😉
