Grooming takes way more thought, precision and care than people realize. Groomers have to be so careful and conscious when grooming around faces, in particular. Often dogs jerk, turn or toss their heads around when they see anything come toward them. Makes sense! That's why extra care in necessary to avoid harming animals or groomers.

Winnie is one of our regular senior dogs that comes to the shop. She's such a cutie with her human-like eyes. 😍 She always gets the 'zoomies' (senior style 🤣) in the shop after she's done being groomed. We love her so much! 💙

Darrin grooms Winnie every 4-5 weeks because it is the best schedule to make sure her time on the table is as brief as possible and she has a positive experience. Grooming senior dogs takes another level of attention, care and love. They sometimes need breaks or simply need the bare necessity to keep the time shorter on the table. On occasion they sit on the table for as much of the groom as possible. Whatever it takes! 🥰

We had so much fun last week participating with Charm City Companions at National Night Out in Upper Fells Point. The 300 block of S Chapel street had a great party and we got to meet so many neighborhood pups.

We provided free nail trims and a pet photo booth for many of these cuties. So grateful for a beautiful evening and great neighbors!

When you get a new puppy, it's important to "train" them for grooming. Touch their feet, play with their toes, ears, face with your hands. Introduce them to a brush or a vibrating toothbrush just for the sounds. These things are so helpful and can make your puppy's visit and future grooms much more comfortable experiences.

Today is Creed's 4 month birthday and his mama celebrated with his first Spaw Day! He did great!!
