Gilbert Co. is a family owned and operated business. Things have changed drastically since Fred's dream started so many years ago. In the 1930's Fred worked for Tretolite (an oilfield chemical company) in west Texas. He came to California in the late 30's and he started a small "dime store" sometime after the second world war. After some time Fred went back to doing what he knew best which was the

oilfields and chemical pumps! Finally in 1954 Fred opened up Fred C. Fred had a dream and made it possible and today we are still working in the oilfield business and opened a feed store in 2007. Why a feed store you may ask? Well it all started when someone asked for hay and we began to see the need for a feed store here in Oildale! The feed store has grown since 2007 we now have various different brands of feed for livestock & pets, animal supplies including vaccines and tack, as well as water tanks & troughs. We are always taking requests from our customers and enjoy stocking the items you need in one spot. Come by the store and have a look for yourself we would love to see you!
