As some have noticed, we have not had the farm stand open this week. We are still trying to clean up and recover from the flooding and all the damage it did. This is definitely a hard hit to our ranch as those funds (no matter how little some days) really help us towards rescue efforts.
With that said, if anyone with some construction experience or just handy, and is willing to donate their time and manpower, any help would be appreciated to get us back up and running.
Also, if anyone knows of either unwanted millings, pea gravel, or anything else we could use for a flooring option to raise it above flooding level, that would be beyond appreciated. Any donations can be given a tax deductible receipt since we are a nonprofit.
Until then we will continue to be at the Baker Farmers Market on Saturdays with merchandise and Pickles🥒 so we can continue to bring in some kind of funding ❤️
With all that said, once we are back up and functioning, I am excited to announce that we will have LIVE bait added to our stand! I’m in the process of starting a blood worm farm and looking into crickets!! Since we are so close to Hurricane Lake, we’ve had many requests!! 🪱🦗
As always, 100% of all proceeds from the farm stand and at the market go right back into the rescue!! Vet care, feed, maintenance, and expansions to our pastures so we can continue to serve our community’s farm animal rescue needs 🥰 We love and appreciate all the support from Baker and surrounding communities!
Some items we are currently working towards having:
-Tractor
-Horse/Livestock trailer
-Lawn mower (push mowing is rough in this heat LOL)
-Fencing to expand the pasture for more grazing room
-Larger shelter for the horses/donkeys
