When Bella first came it was like she was hopped up on Mountain Dew at all times.

She's not on a place. She's not in a command. She's chilling, on her own.

If I had to choose between obedience and relationship, I'd choose relationship 100%.
Not because I hate obedience. But because somehow people have been convinced that obedience is going to solve all of your problems with your dog.
It won't.

I'm not just a dog trainer. I'm also in the process of training my goats. Using the same methods I use to train dogs.
And like dogs, my goats all need something a little different.

Dog and cat dynamics are so interesting.
I've always had cats and dogs in my house together.
So... Why is it that Bella doesn't chase my cats but she chases the cats at her house?
1. The 2 cats she interacts with at my house understand dogs. They don't run. They stand their ground and smack when necessary. The cats at Bella's house are much more flighty and often run when she approaches causing her to chase.
2. My house is a calm place. Play and rowdiness are outside activities.

We're focusing on relationship and meeting her needs.
At home Bella gets nervous or bored and chews on stuff or jumps all over her mom.
She's been with us just about 5 days and the difference is huge.
She is getting obedience foundations, but it is probably 10% of her training with us. I want her to feel confident in herself and in her people so she doesn't have to be constantly micromanaged.

Took Miss Bella to the Four Corners today. Watching her confidence grow in novel situations is the best.
