I’ve written this and rewritten this post a hundred times, and each time, it never gets easier. Of course, this kind of thing never is. Fur Seasons, and most importantly, Sarah, unexpectedly lost one of the best dogs we’ve had the pleasure of caring for earlier this week.

If you’ve followed Fur Seasons for long, or even Dogs Around Austin before us, chances are you’ve seen Miss Angela Lansbury . She’s been featured in so many of our main posts, and her “Would P**p Here Again” photo even hangs up in our bathroom.

I don’t know that there are enough words to encompass who Bea was. Her big personality, even bigger heart, and even even bigger head. She was exactly the type of dog Fur Seasons was created for; she had her select group of dog friends, primarily consisting of her bestie, Gracie, but man did she love us humans. She graced our hands, jeans, and lobby with slobber, took the best photos, and was 100/10 the best snuggler.

Sarah, Bea’s mom, poured every single ounce of love into Miss Bea, and it showed in every interaction we witnessed between the two of them, Sarah’s “Bea voice” we got to hear each week, and in just how amazing of a dog Bea was.

To say our hearts are broken would be a vast understatement. Working in the dog industry, or pet industry in general, you know that dogs aren’t here for long enough. But while they are here, our daily lives are that much happier, that much sillier, that much more slobbery, and we cherish every moment of it. And when we lose one, it changes us irrevocably.

We would love it if you commemorated Bea with us by sharing kind words for Sarah, photos of your dogs, comment just their silly antics (the sillier the better), or donate to your local rescue or shelter in honor of Bea.

And, please keep Bea and Sarah in your hearts with us.

We love you Big Girl Bea. 🤍
