YOUR DOG VS. THE VACUUM. We know who’s winning.

Here’s the thing: the problem usually isn’t the vacuum—it’s impulse control.

Try this:

🐾 Put your dog in a place command.

🐾 With the vacuum OFF, walk over and touch it. If your dog remains calmly in place, walk back and reward.

🐾 Repeat until the vacuum becomes completely boring.

🐾 Next, move the vacuum slightly. Reward your dog for staying in place.

🐾 Gradually increase the challenge over multiple sessions—rolling the vacuum, standing it upright, moving it around the room.

🐾 Once your dog can stay relaxed through all of that, turn the vacuum ON at a distance. Reward calm behavior and slowly close the gap over time.

The goal isn’t to stop your dog from noticing the vacuum. The goal is teaching them that seeing, hearing, and being around it doesn’t require a reaction.

Make it consistent. Make it fun. And clean your damn house. ❤️🐾

Juneteenth marks the day the last enslaved people in the United States learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

It is a day to celebrate freedom, honor resilience, and reflect on the ongoing pursuit of equality and justice.

As a Black-owned business, this day holds special meaning for us. Our owner and head trainer, Lamar Bowman, has built East Lamar through hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to serving both dogs and their people. His journey reflects the strength and determination that Juneteenth commemorates.

Today, we honor the past, recognize the progress that has been made, and acknowledge the work that remains.

Happy Juneteenth. 💛💚❤️🖤

Confidence isn’t a personality trait — it’s a skill.

Even the steadiest dogs can hesitate around something new. That’s normal. What turns hesitation into “no big deal” is small, daily practice. A little every day beats one big session a month.

Reps add up. Confidence grows quietly in the background.

Confident dogs aren’t born. They’re practiced. 🐾

If you have a reactive dog, you already know this walk. The late hour. The constant scanning. The exhale when the coast is clear.

We want you to hear something, from people who work with dogs like yours every single day:

Your dog isn’t bad. You aren’t failing. A reactive dog is a scared dog, not a broken one—and fear is something that can be worked on, gently, patiently, with time.

You don’t have to figure this out alone, and you don’t have to keep walking at 10pm forever. 🐾

If this is your dog, our DMs are always open. 💚
