Earlier today, one of our volunteers reached out about a pregnant cat that was in distress. She was clearly in a lot of pain, leaking blood and other fluid and we knew immediately she was having a life-threatening emergency. She was rushed to the vet where an ultrasound confirmed she had nine (yes nine!) premature kittens still alive and moving around in her belly. The vet confirmed she needed an urgent c-section and spay, which would be costly. We knew we had to give this girl a fighting chance and gave the green light for the vet to try and save mama and babies. Meet Brandy.
Sadly, eight of the nine kitties have passed away during/shortly after the procedure, leaving just one tiny, preemie kitten remaining. They are currently with an experienced foster where they will rest and recover. We rely entirely upon donations to cover medical bills like Brandy’s. ASR is a volunteer-run rescue, meaning 100% of your donations go straight towards helping rescue cats!
