Meet the Team Tuesday – Ashly

Ashly has been part of the Circle C Animal Hospital family for almost 8 years! She started out at the front desk as just a kid and has since grown into an incredibly skilled and knowledgeable vet tech. We lovingly call her “Rainman” because of her amazing memory—she can recall every pet she’s ever met!

Ashly has a beautiful Siberian husky named Myla (aka Moo Moo) and an Arabian horse named CSP St. Bart (“Bart”), with whom she’s won many competitions. She’s been riding horses since the age of four and grew up in the hill country of Johnson City.

Outside of work, Ashly is a devoted petsitter, full-time animal lover, and outdoorsy adventurer on the weekends. Fun fact: despite being a vet tech, she’s actually terrified of needles herself!

Huck's landing technique was questionable. His confidence? Unshakable 💥🐱

✨ Meet the Team Tuesday! ✨

This week we’re celebrating Denise, who has been part of the veterinary world since high school — that’s nearly 33 years of experience and compassion! 💛

Lovingly known as the “Dachshund Whisperer,” Denise has a soft spot for those long bodies and velvety ears. 🐶💕

When she’s not caring for pets, Denise channels her talent into art — creating stunning pet portraits that perfectly capture the love in their eyes. 🎨🐾 She even brings that creativity into the clinic, adding adorable hand-drawn sketches to some of our medication bags! 🖍️ Keep an eye out for her artwork and share a photo if you’ve received one of her masterpieces. 📸

We’re so grateful to have Denise’s compassion, artistry, and heart on our team. 💖

💙 Let’s continue the conversation about feline heart health! 💙

🐱 Meet Peter! 🩵

Peter is Dr. Smith’s almost 2-year-old kitty who’s been followed by a cardiologist since he was just a baby. He’s always had a mild heart murmur, but his first heart ultrasound at 5 months old looked completely normal.

When Dr. Smith brought him back for a recheck at 1 year old, his heart showed some mild changes. A special blood test called ProBNP, which measures heart stress, came back elevated—and Peter was diagnosed with equivocal hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). This is a condition where the heart muscle becomes thickened over time, making cats more prone to congestive heart failure (fluid in the lungs) and blood clots that can cause sudden paralysis.

Peter is doing great and has another recheck planned for March 💪—a great reminder of why early screening and regular monitoring are so important!

The best part? There’s a new medication that can actually reverse heart thickening—and it only needs to be given once a week!

💙 Ask us about the ProBNP test or the new heart medication at your cat’s next visit!

🐱 Happy National Cat Day! 🐾

Today we’re highlighting the importance of feline heart health. Did you know that 1 in 7 cats have underlying heart disease? And only about half of them have a heart murmur. Many show no signs until the disease is quite advanced.

Catching it early makes all the difference. That’s why we’re now offering the ProBNP test as an optional add-on to our wellness plans! 💙
This simple blood test measures an enzyme released when the heart is under stress, helping us detect heart disease before symptoms appear—so your cat can stay healthy and happy for years to come.

🌟 Meet the Team Tuesday! 🌟
Today we’re excited to introduce Juliana, the newest member of the Circle C family! She’s doing an amazing job helping to hold down the front desk and making sure our clients — and their pets — feel right at home. 🐾
Here are a few fun facts about Juliana:
🍃 She’s a 2025 Texas State graduate with a Bachelor of Science
🌎 She’s on the path to becoming a Natural Resource Conservationist
📚 When she’s not working, you’ll find her reading or discovering new music
⚡ She’s an avid Harry Potter fan (House pride, anyone?)
🍁 She loves the fall and spring seasons
We’re so happy to have Juliana on the team — be sure to say hi next time you’re in!

It’s , and today we’re shining the spotlight on Pauline — our spooky season queen and longtime rockstar technician! 👻💜

Pauline has been with us for 7 years (and in the veterinary field for 14!), always bringing top-notch care, big smiles, and pink-hair energy. She’s a San Antonio native who loves scary movies, Halloween, and EDM beats. When she’s off the clock, her favorite activity is cuddling her adorable dog, Ace 🐶💜
