Austin Bulldog Rescue’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving and knowledgeable families for rescued English Bulldogs. We rescue bulldogs from animal shelters, other rescue groups and from owners who can no longer properly care for their English Bulldog. Upon intake, we place each bulldog into a foster home that has been pre-approved and fully prepared to care for the specific needs of each bulldog. We provide and fund ALL health care needs for each bulldog while in our foster’s care…including medications, surgeries, vaccinations, preventatives, supplements and of course, spay and neuter. When healthy, happy and ready, each bulldog is matched with a pre-approved family and if all parties agree it is truly a perfect match, the bulldog is adopted into their furever home.

Remember Destiny?

The little Bulldog/Bully mix who was found abandoned, emaciated, with red, painful skin, nearly bred to death, her ears swollen and bleeding, and enormous tumors covering her ENTIRE mammary chain? 💔

Well, she is amazingly still with us and slowly she is showing us that she CAN heal. The doctors initially thought she had maybe days… but dogs constantly surprise us with their resilience and forgiving nature. 🥹

Destiny is not out of the woods. Her little body has been through hell, and she needs an expensive surgery to remove the cancerous tumors all along her mammary chain. X-rays showed no signs of cancer spreading to her organs yet, so we want to give her a chance at a good life by removing the tumors before they can grow and harm her any further.

Destiny is such a gentle, sweet soul, and she truly deserves a life filled with love, care, and the comfort of being part of a family.

🚨 EMERGENCY ATX FOSTER NEEDED TODAY! SHE'S ON HER WAY, BUT HAS NOWHERE TO GO. 💔

Two days ago, we begged for help saving two dogs whose lives were hanging by a thread. Both are now on their way out of the shelter, but our Bulldog girl is arriving TODAY with no foster home waiting for her. 🆘

The more pictures and videos we receive, the more our hearts break. She's in horrific condition, and we fear what we're seeing may be far more serious than we imagined.

We're sharing these pictures and videos exactly as we're receiving them. There is nothing we could add that would make the reality of her condition any more heartbreaking. This is what rescue looks like sometimes, and right now, we desperately need help. 💔

This dog is the very definition of rescue.

We don't know what happened to her, how long she's suffered, or what her medical assessment will reveal. Somehow, she is still so incredibly sweet.

We're taking her straight to our veterinarian this afternoon for an assessment and immediate care. But where does she go afterward?

SHE NEEDS A FOSTER HOME IN THE AUSTIN AREA TODAY.‼️

We need someone compassionate who understands she may face serious medical challenges, or she may have very limited time left with us.

What we do know is that she deserves every single minute of happiness and love we can give her, and we intend to do exactly that. Even if that is all we can do.😓

We couldn't leave her behind. Now we're begging someone to give her a soft bed and the comfort she's gone far too long without.

We also desperately need donations for her medical care. We don't know what lies ahead, but we're committed to doing everything we can for her.

Happy Birthday to board member and human extraordinaire Crystal! 💖🎉

What on earth would ABR do without you? A human who truly wears so many hats and leads operations with zeal and compassion.

Crystal pours her heart and soul into everything she does for ABR. From dog intakes and transportation to partnerships with other rescues, managing day-to-day operations, navigating behavior challenges, and helping our fosters succeed, she is involved in SO much behind the scenes.

Her dedication, reliability, and willingness to go above and beyond for every dog never go unnoticed.

We know this isn’t an easy job, and we are so incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and love she puts into making ABR what it is.
