Meet Sigi, the brave dachshund! 🥰

Sigi, short for Sir Sigmund, came to see our boarded neurosurgeon, Dr. Passmore! Sigi had developed intervertebral disk disease, or IVDD. 😢

🤗 Dr. Passmore got right to work and performed a hemilaminectomy. This is a surgery where damaged disk material is removed and relieves pressure on the spine.

Thanks to Dr. Passmore, Sir Sigmund recovered! He went back to his kingdom and to his royal and loyal family. 🥰

Thank you so much to Sigi's parents for bringing him to see us and sharing this amazing book about him! 🤩

Meet this birthday cutie, Tassie! 🎉🎂

🥳🥳Tassie turns 16 years old today!

🤓He came to see our boarded oncologist, Dr. Sheppard, for adrenocortical carcinoma and a renal mass. He has been receiving palladia to improve his outcomes for this type of cancer.

We are so happy that his pet parents brought him to see us! 🙌

😍 We're having a golden week at Pet Specialists of Austin, meet Mya! 🐾

😰 Mya came to see our amazing emergency team because she was vomiting. Since she has a history of Laryngeal Paralysis (Lar Par), a condition where an airway obstruction can occur. Our team was concerned that she had aspiration pneumonia, or possibly a foreign body obstruction. Both conditions can be caused by foreign material entering the body and getting caught where it shouldn't be! 😷

🏥 Mya was hospitalized and then transferred to our incredible surgery team. Our board-certified surgeon, Dr. Worth, removed a large landscaping rock from her intestines! 🪨

🥰 Mya made a full recovery and is back to her sweet self! Her parents even have a hashtag for her!

We are so thankful to Mya's parents for bringing her to see us! 🙌
