A huge thank you to the Augusta Aroma Joe's Coffee’s crew for stopping by last week with their monthly drink and pup cup delivery! ☕🐾

Princess Biggs was especially excited for the visit and happily made sure “belly rub delivery” was added to their list of services. 💕

We are so thankful for their continued kindness and the happiness they bring to both the animals and staff here at KVHS. These little visits truly brighten everyone’s day!

🚨 Foster or Foster-to-Adopt Home Needed for Curtis!

Meet Curtis, a 6-year-old diabetic kitty with tons of charm, personality, and just the right amount of chaos! Despite his medical needs, Curtis is incredibly friendly and absolutely loves attention from his people.

This handsome boy is very food motivated and will definitely remind you when it’s mealtime 🍽️ While he must stay on a strict diet to help manage his diabetes, he doesn’t let that slow him down one bit! Curtis also requires insulin injections every 12 hours to keep his blood glucose levels regulated, which is why a calm, loving foster home would benefit him so much. ❤️

Curtis is also FIV+, so he will need to be the only cat in the home, have his own separate space, or live with other FIV+ kitties

Curtis has so much love to give and is hoping someone will open their home and heart to him while he continues to thrive.

In observance of Memorial Day, we will be closed for adoptions today. We will resume normal adoption hours tomorrow.

Today, we also take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. ❤️🤍💙

We are celebrating a very special going home… Maggie May! 🐾❤️

Maggie May first came to us back in 2020 with Road Trip Home. Since then, she has spent time in and out of the care of KVHS while we worked to find the perfect home for her. Most recently, she returned to us in early July 2025.

Maggie May had a spinal injury that affected the way she walked, but she never let that slow her down. She was always happy to see the next person coming her way, waddling over with excitement. She loved toys, treats, and going for walks.

Maggie May was looking for a very specific home - one with no children or other animals, and someone prepared to commit to her care financially. We knew those needs could make finding the right match more difficult, but we never stopped believing her person would come… and she did!!!

Maggie May has officially found her forever home, and we absolutely could not be happier to see her get the chance she deserved.

Congratulations to Maggie May and her new family - we hope to get lots of updates! 🐶💕

A big thank you to Central Maine Power for joining us for a group volunteer day last week! 💙🐾

This amazing team spent the day helping with many much-needed tasks including laundry & dishes, hallway cleaning, outdoor cleanup, garage organization, garden planting, and so much more! 🌼🧺🧹

This group was more than happy to roll up their sleeves and jump in wherever help was needed, and we are so thankful for their hard work, positive attitudes, and support of the animals here at KVHS. We truly appreciate everything they accomplished during their visit!

We are incredibly grateful to have been a recipient of the Share the Love event through Charlie's Subaru! Last week, we were honored to receive a generous check presentation from the team at Charlie’s Subaru in Augusta.

Community partnerships like this make such a meaningful impact and help us continue providing healing, hope, and second chances to the animals in our care every single day. 💙🐾
