MRHS works with the City of Athens to provide loving care for homeless animals from McMinn County. The MRHS Spay & Neuter Clinic and Larry Dean Wallace Sr. Adoption Center are both located at 320 S. Jackson St., Athens, TN. We share a facility with the City of Athens Animal Shelter, and are invited to be there to help socialize, transport, foster, and adopt out animals. You’ll adopt from us at thi

s location unless told otherwise! You can reach our team at the Adoption Center at 423-744-9548. MRHS does not intake or reclaim any cats or dogs at the shelter. We rely heavily on volunteers working with a small staff to save lives. Appointments for spay/neuter can be made by contacting the Spay & Neuter Clinic at 423-649-0370. Fill out a volunteer or adoption application at www.mrhumane.org! We'd love to have you join our volunteer team! Donations can be mailed to us at 320 S. Jackson St., Athens, TN 37303. Monetary support from our animal loving friends in the community as well as donations of supplies are very much appreciated! Every donation directly helps over 2,000 animals a year that MRHS helps to care for!

These blue collar working cats need a J-O-B! Our barn cats are ready and waiting for new adventures. These guys are vetted and ready to go! Barn cats do not have an adoption fee. Adopters are required to provide a safe shelter, food and water. While not the friendliest now, many barn cats go on to become furry companions to their new people!

Interested in adopting a barn cat or 3?! Apply online or give us a call. We do ask adopters to bring a carrier with them if available.

We had a successful day today helping those in need. We're so thankful that we could collaborate with Grace and Mercy Ministries, Inc. , Shower Bus #99 , and Jenkins Grille and Market to help those community members in need today.

Our clinic staff has a busy day on Thursday of this week! As part of the Grace and Mercy Ministries, Inc. Hand Up Resource Event, we're helping with close to 60 spay/neuter for those in need in our community. We are absolutely thrilled to be helping so many animals and community members but we need your help!

We are asking for donations to our Spay It Forward program to help offset the cost of these surgeries and vaccines. The goal is $6,000! Consider skipping your morning coffee or post-work milkshake and donate to help!
