Working from home, Daisy and I don’t get out as much. Today, we decided it would be good for us to get out of the house to buy big sister 🐎 some horse things. Apparently, going to the office all those years means nothing. We’re already have crazy eyes in public 🤪

Seriously, our poor girl was a bit anxious in the store today. We will have to be more intentional about keeping elements of socialization and noise in her schedule to prevent withdrawing.

She acts like she knows me now, but earlier today? Oh nooo. Earlier today, when I returned home from a coffee shop, I was a complete stranger for reasons unknown.

Daisy took it upon herself to bark, as aggressively as Daisy can (keep in mind, she’s an adorable, crooked smile, high-pitched, ball of fluff that typically runs away from hangers, boxes, and the treadmill, so her bark is not intimidating at all really), at the intruder in her home like she had never barked before. She stared me down and barked like she meant business. She had never barked at anyone like this before… ever. She would bark occasionally but not AT someone, she would simply run away from strangers. Fight or flight? God forgot the “fight” in this one. She flies more than a plane.

Of course, big brother Forrest had her back and started barking at me too (he’s kinda scary, if I can be honest). Meanwhile, their dad is sitting nearby laughing like it’s the funniest thing he’s seen. I finally saw the “ah-ha” moment click for them when they realized it was me. Forrest came and gave me an apologetic paw with his puppy eyes. Daisy had no regerts.

Reasons Daisy barked at me:
A) I changed into something other than athletic wear. (I’ve been home a lot recently.)
B) She didn’t hear me come inside.
C) She protested me not bringing her a pup cup. 🐾
