On this special day, we remember and honor the service and the sacrifice of all veterans who have served in the U.S. military, including those soldiers who lost their lives, fighting for freedom.

A Dog’s Day Out locations are honored to serve a high percentage of men and women serving our country in the U.S. Armed Forces. We Americans are blessed to live in the greatest country on earth, because of the selfless service, dedication, and sacrifices made by the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, for the United States of America. Freedom is the greatest gift our U.S. military and veterans have fought for and sacrificed for we Americans.

Freedom is not free.

I am blessed that my own dad, retired U.S. Army Colonel, made it home after three tours of combat in Vietnam before and after I was born, including being shot in combat, serving our country.

I am especially thankful my dad was lucky enough to make it home alive from serving our country. My dad is my HERO, my life-long mentor and A Dog's Day Out business partner. He is the best dad and grandfather imaginable, along with being the fairest man and the greatest man I have ever known.

Visions of my dad in uniform from Vietnam (see photo) to every military base we lived on throughout my childhood are all permanently etched in my memory. Growing up a U.S. soldiers’ child was the greatest life in the world. Thanks to my military dad, I grew up loving all people, loving our country and those who serve it. I am a better father, husband, man, and American thanks to my military dad. I love and thank my dad for everything he has done for me.

A Dog’s Day Out proudly remembers, honors, and appreciates every U.S. military serviceman and woman, active, retired, and those who lost their lives serving our great country. God bless you all.
