Socialization | Indoor Pet Initiative

Socialization is the most important thing to do with your young puppy to teach them good manners with other people and other dogs. Options include puppy classes, puppy play groups with your friends, taking them to outdoor events or places like Home Depot (just be careful with limiting their exposure to dogs with an unknown vaccine status).

Socialization Period Proper exposure and handling of puppies during their first months of life is essential to the prevention of behavior problems. The socialization period in puppies begins at age 3 weeks and continues to age 12-14 weeks, depending on the breed. During this time, a puppy's brain is...

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO READ: Cats are very different than dogs....in that, when they act sick, they usually are VERY sick. Since cats are prey in the wild, they are instinctively very stoic up until they cannot mask it anymore and it is at this point you should NOT wait to take your cat to the vet. The sooner we take a look at them, the easier it is to get them feeling better!
Some signs to look for:
-lethargy
-lack of interest in food
-hiding in odd places
-head held down
-not walking well
-consistent vomiting

On December 9th, our beloved Caesar crossed the bridge into heaven, leaving us completely heart broken. He went into the local vet for a routine neuter and was tragically taken from us. The chief veterinarian of a popular vet in Springfield, VA botched his surgery by removing the wrong organ and blocking blood supply to his bladder. He endured two days of unimaginable pain before we were told what happened, minutes before his death. We wake up to an emptiness that cannot be described. He was my faithful companion who brought love, laughter, and purpose into my life. At this time, we desperately need love from our community. In his memory, please join us for a socially distanced candlelight vigil with your loved ones. Candles will be provided; please feel free to bring your own. #justiceforcaesar
So we got Rosa’s DNA test back. To say we were shocked might be an understatement, lol

Just sit back and relax.. Ashburn Village Animal Hospital has got you covered.
Hey everyone I got a question 🐾
Thank you Dr. Germann for the compassionate and kind care you and your staff have provided for our four legged "kids" over the last few years. It is very comforting to know that our pets will always receive the best possible treatment and lots of TLC!!
I want to thank Dr. Germann, Mandi and the entire staff that helped us through a difficult day yesterday morning. Yukon loved to come to the vet because you all loved on him so much. It was a safe and loving environment to say our goodbyes. Though I'm heartbroken, you all have been friends, care givers and support through the good and tough times. Thank you! Mark and Lisa Adams =)
