September is also animal pain awareness month!
Cats are professionals on hiding how they are feeling, here some signs that may indicate that your cat is in pain.
-your cat may sit hunched over with their head lowered and back curved higher than normal
- They may appear as if they are trying to curl up in a tight ball
- cat sometimes remain compressed with their legs tucked underneath themselves while lying down instead of stretching out
- Additionally, cats may make facial expressions that are out of the ordinary, such as closing their eyes, squinting, or flattening their ears, and their cheeks, nose, and mouth may appear more tense than usual

Its national ginger cat appreciation day!
Did you know that orange cats come in four different patterns, and none of them are solid orange!
-Mackerel (striped), which makes the kitty look like a tiger, with an “M” shape appearing on the forehead
-Classic (swirled, blotched, or marbled), which gives the kitty a tie-dyed look
-Ticked (stripeless), which breaks up the tabby patterning into a “salt-and-pepper” or “sand” appearance
-Spotted, which breaks up the tabby patterning so the stripes or swirls appear as spots

Breaking News: There has been a Parvo-like illness outbreak in northern Michigan and since this is a popular vacation spot, out of town dogs are possibly bringing in this illness and spreading it. This can happen anywhere when you travel with your dogs, so this is how you can best keep them safe:

- Keep your dog up to date with all annual vaccines, including the distemper parvo vaccine.
- Make sure your dog is fully vaccinated before interacting with other animals. This means waiting 2 weeks post vaccines to ensure complete safety.
- Avoid high traffic dog areas like dog parks, pet stores, etc. where they may interact with other dogs of unknown vaccine status.
- Always clean up after your pet when you are walking them out in public.

CBD is a great supplement to add to your pet's regimen, especially in cases of anxiety. PLEASE be cautious in purchasing any products online, since you don't always know the quality, safety and effectiveness of a lot of them. Some can be contaminated with heavy metal toxins, contain a higher than acceptable THC content and have an inadequate concentration of CBD to actually work. Vets do offer veterinary grade chews that not only work but we guarantee our products, so if your dogs don't like the taste or you don't like how it works, you can return it for a refund! Ask us if you have any questions about this, we are happy to help!

Hi, I am with Town Hall.
We publish a monthly welcome Town Hall Guide that is mailed weekly to all new residents as they move into your community.
Our Welcome Guide is going to feature only one exclusive business inside each category, and I am searching for a Veterinarian in your area to fill that spot.
I would like to schedule a time when you are expecting me so that I may drop off a sample of our "Welcome Kit" and explain the program in greater detail.
Please message me or for immediate assistance, feel free to call or text me on my cell which is listed below.
Thanks.

Ashburn Village Animal Hospital, it's your turn to take the spotlight!

This fantastic practice is situated in northern Virginia and was location #51 looking back in history. These guys are Fear Free certified, Low Stress Handling certified, and just all around talented and kind.

Meet AVAH and their team here. ⭐️
On December 9th, our beloved Caesar crossed the bridge into heaven, leaving us completely heart broken. He went into the local vet for a routine neuter and was tragically taken from us. The chief veterinarian of a popular vet in Springfield, VA botched his surgery by removing the wrong organ and blocking blood supply to his bladder. He endured two days of unimaginable pain before we were told what happened, minutes before his death.

We wake up to an emptiness that cannot be described. He was my faithful companion who brought love, laughter, and purpose into my life. At this time, we desperately need love from our community. In his memory, please join us for a socially distanced candlelight vigil with your loved ones. Candles will be provided; please feel free to bring your own.

So we got Rosa’s DNA test back. To say we were shocked might be an understatement, lol
