Pepper is available for adoption!!!

This beautiful 9-year-old Thoroughbred mare arrived on March 3rd. Standing tall at 16.1 hands, Pepper was once a talented show jumper, but due to minor arthritis, she’s now enjoying a slower-paced life. While she can no longer jump, she’s still lightly rideable and full of personality.

Our Story

Founded in 1994, The Horse Protection League has spent the last two decades rehabilitating and caring for horses who have been surrendered or rescued in hopes of finding a forever home. With only 2 paid employees on the entire ranch HPL runs almost completely off the hard work of our volunteers. We are completely sustained by grants and donations as a non-profit. Want to join our community? Send us a message to find out when our next orientation is. We can’t wait to see you!
