Okay but seriously… we need fosters. 🥹🐾

DFW, we need you.

We’re looking for foster homes + temporary fosters right now, especially for dogs who need a place to land while their families are traveling.
You don’t have to foster forever.
You don’t need to be a dog expert.
You just need a safe space, some patience, and a willingness to fall a little bit in love. 🤍

But watching a dog walk into their forever home healthier, happier, and SO loved?
Yeah. That part is pretty damn special.

If you’ve been thinking about fostering, this is your sign.
👉 Apply to foster. ntxaussierescue.org/foster
👉 Share this with your dog-obsessed friend.
👉 Tag someone who has “I would foster but…” in their vocabulary.

Your future foster is out there. 🐶

Marsalis & Beckley are 12-pound (and growing) bundles of puppy chaos, Corgi mix butts, big personalities, and even bigger potential. 😂🐾

Marsalis is the sunshine boy: goofy, cuddly (HE'S SO FLUFFY!), playful, and always ready to be your new best friend. 🥹

Beckley? She’s the Head of Security. 12 pounds of confidence, curiosity, squirrel surveillance, and VERY important opinions. 😂 Her adorable red wire coat is just to die for, really matches her personality too.

Both are crate trained, good with other dogs, food motivated, and ready for families who are excited to help them grow into amazing adult dogs.

And lucky for you… they’ll both be at Puppies & Pilates tomorrow! 🧘‍♀️🐶

Can’t make Pilates? No worries! Swing by Backyard Dallas after 11 AM to meet the puppies, say hi, donate, or just get some puppy time. 🧡

Come meet your new best friend!

Looking from out of state? Don't worry, we adopt out of state!

Some dogs just need you to believe in them a little longer. 🤎

Meet Possum!

Possum is 4 years old, 47 pounds, and one of those dogs who will absolutely make you work for the privilege of being his best friend. 😂 And he's been in rescue since late February. We pulled him and another pup from a central TX shelter after being found as strays.

When he first came into his foster home, he was scared, unsure, and just trying to figure out where he fit. And your thinking yeah, thats most rescue dogs, well it has taken Possum 3 months to really get to this place.

So his foster did the simplest thing.
Consistency. Kept showing up for him.
Time. Space. Routine. And above all else, patience.
And little by little, Possum started letting his guard down.

Now? He’s a goofy, lovable, ridiculously smart boy who has completely integrated himself into the family.

He’s what we call a slow burner—like a good campfire or your favorite comfort show. He may not be climbing into your lap on day one, but give him time, patience, and a little consistency, and once Possum decides you’re his person? Oh, buddy. You’re IN. 🥹

He loves having his brain busy, wants to learn, wants to connect, and has this goofy personality that keeps coming out more and more as his confidence grows.
He’s the kind of dog who reminds you why rescue matters.

Because sometimes the dog you have to wait for...becomes the dog you can’t imagine your life without.

Possum is ready for the person willing to give him that same chance.
And we have a feeling that once he picks you, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without him. 🤎

IT’S GIVING DAY SEASON, BABY. 🐾❤️

Early Giving for North Texas Giving Day is officially LIVE!

And because rescue is basically organized chaos with a lot of dog hair, we’re asking for your help keeping our “YES” fund healthy.

Surgeries. Heartworm treatment. Basic Vetting. Meds. Emergency trips. Extensive medical testing to find out what the heck is actually going on, looking at you little corgi Nala (she had valley fever AND Menengitis) The random “oh cool, this dog needs THAT too” expenses. 😂

Every donation helps us be ready for the next dog who needs us.
$10 helps. $50 helps. $100 helps. Sharing this helps.

Basically, if you love an Aussie (corgi, border collie, well any dog really we don't discriminate over here), we need you. 🫶

Help us keep saying YES to the dogs who need us most.
👇 Give early. Give local. Give some love to rescue.

Y’ALL. IT’S ALMOST TIME. 👀🐾

North Texas Giving Day Early Giving opens TOMORROW, August 27!

Which means we are officially entering our favorite season: The season of asking y’all to help us keep saying YES. 😂❤️

Rescue is very much . . . We don't get to pick the dogs who need us. We don't get to say, “Sorry, we're a little short on funds this month. Maybe next time.” When a dog needs surgery, they need surgery. When a shelter dog is out of time, they're out of time. When a dog has spent years being neglected and finally has a chance at something better, we want to be the people who say YES.

You know that slight Rescue chaos (we need a foster now, we need to raise these funds QUICK!)

Just this past week, sweet Cutlet had TPLO surgery. Her surgery alone was around $3,000. And she's not the only one.

We've had two dogs need major orthopedic surgeries in the last few weeks, totaling nearly $6,000 in unexpected medical care.

That is a LOT of money for a rescue. But it is also exactly why North Texas Giving Day matters.

Early Giving gives us a chance to start rebuilding those medical funds before the next emergency walks through our door. Because there will be a next one. There is always a next one.

Your $25, $50, $100, $500 donation isn't just a number on a fundraising page. It's part of the reason we can look at the next dog and say: Yep. We can help!

And that's what this whole thing is about.

Dogs like Cutlet getting the surgery they need.
Dogs leaving shelters and heading into foster homes.
Dogs learning that hands can be gentle.
Dogs getting healthy.
Dogs getting spoiled.
Dogs finding their people.
And all the people behind those happy endings.

Our fosters. Our volunteers. Our adopters. Our donors. The people who share our posts. The people who tell their friends about us. The people who show up when we say, “Okay, y'all… we need help.”

YOU ARE NTASR!

So tomorrow, Early Giving officially begins. And over the next few weeks, we're going to be asking you to show up for these dogs with us.

Consider this your official invitation. 🐾

Help us build that medical fund back up. Help us be ready for the next dog.

Early Giving opens tomorrow, August 27.

Let's do this. ❤️

Is he part aussie, lizard or professional sunbather?

Meet Monty! ☀️

Can we just say we dunno how this guy is still waiting on a forever home. He's a sweet 2 year old, 54 pound Aussie mix and has been with us since January. Monty was born in an accidental litter and ended up on the streets of Houston. His mom, Faith Hill, was rescued, vetted, and adopted, but Monty is still waiting for his turn.

Monty not only loves to lounge in the sun, and in your lap, but also loves walks, snacks (me too, me too), and relaxing on the couch. Does he have a touch of shy guy energy, yeah. But a few snacks and setting a routine, he's all in.

He’s fully vetted, housetrained, walkies - no problem. AND he's a WIZ KID, learning basic commands FAST.

Did we mention it's National Dog Day? Can we give Monty the only thing he’s asking for, a family of his own?

He isn’t an accident. He’s somebody’s best friend. 💛
