Meet Emma, a brave pup who visited us for a cuterebra removal—a condition caused by a type of botfly larva that can burrow under the skin of pets. 😲

Fun fact: Cuterebra larvae are typically found in the warmer months and often come from pets sniffing around rabbit or rodent burrows! 🐇🐾

Thanks to her pawrent’s quick action and a little help from our team, Emma is now feeling much better and on the road to recovery. 💕

Reminder: If you notice a strange lump or swelling on your pet, it’s always best to have it checked out!

Some stories come full circle, and Commander’s is one of them! 🐶 This adorable pup was born right here at our clinic via c-section, and it was love at first sight for our amazing PCS Chandra, who adopted him from his fur mama’s family. ❤️

Fast forward to today, and Commander is back at Mid-Cities Animal Urgent Care for his neuter surgery. 🩺 He handled it like the champ he was born to be and is now ready to live his best (and responsible) puppy life! 🐕

From his very first breath to this milestone moment, we’re so proud to be a part of Commander’s journey. ✨

Meet Raven, an adventurous bull terrier puppy who was referred to us by another emergency hospital for a much-needed endoscopy. 🩺 Her fur mom noticed she hadn’t eaten since yesterday morning and brought her in for help. X-rays quickly revealed the culprit: a silicone toy stuck in her stomach! 😲

With her pawrent's quick decision to move forward, Dr. Ferrell and Dr. Stepanek teamed up to retrieve the funny-looking silicone ball causing all the trouble. Raven recovered like a champ and was all tail wags as she headed home to her loving family. ❤️

A huge shoutout to Raven’s amazing fur mama for acting fast and being her biggest advocate!

When Ellie Mae suddenly refused to hop back on the couch, her quick-thinking owner knew something was up. She noticed Ellie Mae moving a little stiffly and brought her right in to see us. Thanks to her fur mama's attentiveness, Dr. Brasel and Latia were able to get Ellie Mae comfortable with some pain meds, and she’ll be back to her happy, couch-loving self in no time! 🎀🐶

And we have to say—Ellie Mae rocked the cutest ponytail during her visit. 🥰

Great job to Ellie Mae’s pawrent for always looking out for her! 👏

Meet Ember: A Tiny Survivor 🐾🔥⁠

Amidst the devastation of a fire under a downtown bridge, a glimmer of hope emerged. Firefighters were cleaning up after the blaze when they found something incredible: a live puppy who had survived it all. 💔🐶⁠
⁠
They brought her to Tulsa Animal Urgent Care, and thanks to their quick actions and bravery, this little fighter is now safe and on her way to a better life. One of our amazing CES, Kyndra, has adopted her and fittingly named her Ember, because she’s proof that even in the ashes, resilience burns bright. 🐕❤️⁠

Meet Bandida! 🐾❤️⁠

This sweet pup was miserably itchy with scabies 😖—a highly contagious skin condition caused by mites that burrow into a dog’s skin. Thankfully, her amazing paw parent took quick action and brought her in to get help. 💪🐶⁠
⁠
After discussing all the itching and scratching with Dr. Crivolio, her fur dad decided to start Bandida on Simparica Trio. This treatment is a prevention that not only eliminates the mites but also protects against Heartworm disease, Ticks & Fleas, and Roundworms & Hookworms (as long as it’s taken monthly 😉).⁠

Bandida is already feeling better, and her pawrent can rest easy knowing their proactive care is keeping her healthy and itch-free. 💕 Great job, Bandida’s family—you’re a true pet hero!⁠

🐾 Meet Eddie! 🐾

This sneaky boy mistook an ice pack for a treat... 😓 Luckily, his paw parents brought him to us quickly. After Dr. Brasel consulted with a veterinary toxicologist, we safely induced vomiting and got all that gel out! 🙌 If you ever catch your pet eating something possibly toxic red-handed (or after the fact, hehe), don't hesitate to reach out and call us. 🎉 Meet Mickey! 🐶✨ This sweet boy had surgery back in November with a specialist, who noticed his tonsils were unusually large and swollen during intubation. They recommended a recheck in a month, and guess what? Today was the day! 🩺👀

Using a special tool called a laryngoscope, we took a peek and confirmed Mickey is A-OK! 🎊🙌 He was so brave throughout the process and is heading home with perfectly normal tonsils. 🏡💙 Way to go, Mickey! 🐾💪

🐻✨ This sweet cutie, Bear, came in with very swollen eyes, and after a thorough exam and an eye stain, we discovered he had a corneal ulcer. Since this is a recurring issue, Bear will need a special surgery with an ophthalmologist to fully resolve it. Until then, we performed a temporary procedure called eye tacking to help him feel more comfortable. 💙

This involves suturing the eyelids away from the eyeball to reduce friction and prevent the ulcer from worsening. Dr. Stepanek did an amazing job, and now Bear is rocking an adorable wide-eyed look while on the road to recovery! 👀🐾
