Why do cats knead—or make biscuits?

This mannerism is often a comforting activity and one that cats engage in when they are sleepy or when spending time with their favorite people. While it may have been a nursing habit for kittens, it sticks around into adulthood as it’s soothing and reminds them of contentment. 🐾

Cats also use their whiskers to determine their position in space, especially in dark and low-light situations.

Your cat's whiskers can also let you know if your feline friend is nervous or frightened!
