When performing a heartworm test here in office, we collect a blood sample. The sample is run through an antigen test as well as a microscope check! 🩸

🔬Here you see a live look through our microscope—with two microfilaria (heart worms) present within the viewing field.

💊 If a dog tests positive for heartworms, it is important to start treatment immediately to prevent serious health complications.

🐢 Turtles shells are an integrated and inseparable part of their bodies, made of fused bone and connected to their spine and ribs.

🐢 The shell contains living bone tissue with nerve endings, allowing turtles to feel pain and pressure, just like a human can through their skeleton.

Best Case Scenario for Feline Friday! 😻

This kitty came in with chronic nasal discharge and what seemed like nasal congestion—but no sneezing! 🤧

We sedated our patient with plans to perform a rhinoscopy…but, upon intubation, we discovered a tiny, pea sized polyp hiding behind her soft palate. 👅

We were able to successfully remove the polyp by surgery and solve all her problems.🙌🏼
