🐾💙 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: HEATHER 💙🐾
Today we’re shining the spotlight on Heather, who joined the CCAH family in December 2020 and is coming up on six years with us! ❤️
Heather has always had a natural nurturing and caregiving side, and one of the things that drew her to veterinary medicine was the opportunity to be a voice for those who can’t speak for themselves. 🐾
One of her favorite things about working at CCAH is that there’s always something new to learn. She loves getting to experience different surgeries and expand her knowledge, but there’s something else pretty special to her too: being recognized out in public as someone who helps take care of people’s pets. ❤️
🏡 At home:
Heather has three dogs keeping her busy!
There’s Hercules, her geriatric fluff ball, and Moosey, her energetic fluff ball who apparently can’t go anywhere without her best friend, Cricket the Dachshund.
🧹 Now, we need to talk about Heather and organization...
Heather likes things neat, tidy and IN THEIR PLACE.
If something is out of order, the eye twitch may begin.
And if you’re stocking syringes, you’d better make sure they are ALL. FACING. THE. SAME. DIRECTION. 🤣
We don’t make the rules.
Well...apparently Heather does.
🌊 When she’s not at CCAH:
Heather enjoys reading, deep cleaning (because of course she does 😂), kayaking, fishing, swimming, going to the lake, crafting, going out dancing, or simply sitting on the patio talking with friends.
❤️ What keeps her laughing:
Her kiddos, because she never quite knows what they’re going to say or do, and her husband, who is apparently a class clown himself and is always keeping her on her toes...
Or up the wall. 🤣 🐴 If Heather could have any pet in the world:
A horse. She had one in the past and misses the freedom of being able to saddle up and take off for a ride whenever she wants. Thank you, Heather, for your work ethic, your big heart, your willingness to help, and for keeping both our spirits AND our syringes in order.

🐾💙 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: DAISY 💙🐾
Today we’re shining the spotlight on Daisy! Minus a short hiatus, Daisy has been part of the CCAH family since September 2020. ❤️
Daisy was drawn to veterinary medicine because she wanted the ability to help animals, and one of her favorite parts of the job is seeing our patients go home feeling better. She also loves having the opportunity to educate clients and help them better understand and care for their pets. 🩺🐾
Around CCAH, Daisy is definitely known for a couple of things...
💉 Need blood drawn or a catheter placed?
There’s a pretty good chance someone is going looking for Daisy. These are two of the skills she’s become especially good at and something her teammates know they can count on her for.
🐶 And then there are the Chihuahuas...
Daisy has a soft spot for our tiny, sometimes mighty, Chihuahua patients. Naturally, she has one of her own!
🏡 At home:
Meet Cupcake, Daisy’s spunky long-haired apple-head Chihuahua who also happens to be quite the fashionista. Cupcake frequents the salon and can often be spotted sporting a brightly colored tail. 💅🐕🌈
🏃‍♀️ When she’s not at CCAH:
Daisy enjoys going to the gym, running outside, shopping and spending time with her daughter, and taking road trips pretty much anywhere. 🚗
🐼 If she could have any animal in the world as a pet:
A panda bear, simply because they’re so cute.
We can’t really argue with that reasoning.
But when we asked Daisy what ONE thing she would change about the veterinary world if she could...
Animals wouldn’t shed.
Never.
🌎 Something on her bucket list:
Daisy would love to take a trip to Brazil with her daughter to explore the country and see Christ the Redeemer in person. ❤️
❤️ What we appreciate about Daisy:
Daisy is one of those people you can count on. She is dependable, reliable, grounded, and has a way of helping keep order and flow when the day around us gets a little chaotic.
Her position here at CCAH requires her to take on a lot of responsibility, and we appreciate the leadership and stability she brings to our team. But we also love that Daisy is creative, willing to share new ideas, and is always thinking about ways we can do things better.

🐾💙 TEAM SPOTLIGHT: CAMILLE 💙🐾
Today we’re shining the spotlight on Camille, who joined the CCAH family in September 2025!
Camille grew up around animals and always enjoyed taking care of them, so working in veterinary medicine was something she had wanted to do for a long time. One of her favorite things about working at CCAH is getting to see and experience different things every day.
Well...that and cracking jokes. 😂
If you ask her coworkers what Camille is known for, you’ll probably hear some combination of laughing, cracking jokes, and ALWAYS having something to say. If things get a little too quiet around here, don’t worry. Camille will fix it.
🏡 At home:
First up is Koe, her one-year-old Border Collie/Heeler mix and her pride and joy.
Then there are her two team roping horses, Champagne and Fruit Loop. Rounding out the crew is Lucy, a black shorthair cat whose life mission is to terrorize everyone and everything around her.
Naturally, they just love her. 😊
🤠 When she’s not at CCAH:
Camille loves spending time with her friends and family, riding horses, and team roping with her uncle, who taught her how to rope.
🎤 And because her coworkers know this all too well...
What song is Camille most likely to randomly start singing at work?
“Salt Shaker” by the Ying Yang Twins.
Whether anyone else wanted it stuck in their head for the rest of the day is apparently not part of the decision-making process. 🤣
🌎 A couple more things you should know about Camille:
If she could have ANY animal in the world as a pet, she’d choose a meerkat because they’re cute AND they kill snakes.
And Camille wants NO. PART. OF. SNAKES. 🐍🚫😂
Something she’s always wanted to try? Riding in a hot air balloon! 🎈
❤️ What we appreciate about Camille:
Camille may not have been with us as long as some of our crew, but she has absolutely earned her place on this team. We have watched her grow tremendously over the past year, take on new challenges, and master new skills.
We are so glad you’re part of our family! ❤️

🐾💙TEAM SPOTLIGHT: BROOKLYN 💙🐾

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Brooklyn, who has been part of the CCAH family since September 2022!

One of Brooklyn’s favorite things about veterinary medicine is getting the opportunity to learn new skills and be involved in complicated cases and she’s certainly learned a lot over the last four years!

Around here, Brooklyn has earned a bit of a reputation as our animal whisperer and unofficial animal behavioral analyst. 😊 She’s funny, dependable, and seems to have a special knack for figuring out what makes an animal tick.

And her experience with animals definitely doesn’t stop with dogs and cats. Two of the more unusual patients she’s helped care for have been a kangaroo and a parrot named Baby! 🦘🦜

🏡 At home:
Brooklyn has Bella, a pug affectionately described as a “chaos gremlin” who also serves as the official mascot of her mom’s estate sale company. Then there’s Harley, her long-haired cat who acts suspiciously like a dog while also maintaining the appropriate amount of feline spice and strong opinions. 😂

🌲 When she’s not at CCAH:
You’ll probably find Brooklyn hiking, hunting, fishing, diamond painting, or fostering animals of all kinds. And we really do mean all kinds. You never quite know what she’s going to show up with next.

Animals, that is. Not children. We work in veterinary medicine for a reason. 🤣

🐯 And if Brooklyn could have ANY animal in the world as a pet?

A tiger.

Why?

“They’re cool.”

Fair enough. 😂

❤️ What we appreciate about Brooklyn:
Over the years, we have watched Brooklyn grow tremendously. She has taken on more responsibility, continued to build her skills, and proven herself to be incredibly capable and efficient. She’s also one of the first people to volunteer when a shift needs to be covered, someone needs to stay late, or there’s simply work that needs to be done.
But one of our favorite things about Brooklyn is her heart. She genuinely cares about the people and animals around her and is always finding little ways to make others feel special. We are so thankful she’s part of our CCAH family!

🐾💙 It’s Vet Tech Week! 💙🐾

This week, we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate four very special members of the Carter County Animal Hospital family.

If you’ve been through our doors, chances are you’ve seen these ladies hard at work caring for your pets behind the scenes. They are there to comfort a nervous patient, lend an extra set of hands to our doctors, care for hospitalized and surgical patients, run lab work, fill medications, answer questions, clean up the inevitable messes, and somehow keep everything moving on even our craziest days. 🩺🐶🐱

But their job is so much more than a list of tasks.

It’s knowing which patient needs a few extra snuggles. It’s celebrating the good outcomes and carrying the hard days home in their hearts. It’s building relationships with our clients and their pets, supporting our doctors, and being there for one another when the day gets tough.

Veterinary medicine takes a special kind of heart, and we are incredibly thankful for the heart these four bring to CCAH every single day. ❤️

One group post just doesn’t seem like enough to celebrate them, so over the next four days, we’ll be shining the spotlight on one of our Veterinary Assistants each day! We hope you’ll follow along, get to know them a little better, and help us remind them just how appreciated they are.
