It’s been almost a week since we ventured over to Twin Tiers Classic Open Show with a crew of horses! To say the weather was bipolar, was an understatement; From warm sunshine Friday to balmy 40° with 20- 30 mph wind gusts Saturday, even with a little sprinkles coming in on and off, back to warmer sunshine again Sunday… Though it was not ideal, the horses handled themselves pretty well! Some highlights;

💥Moxie Marvel & Sara McMicken💥
These two had another show together, conquering some tricky winds on their main show day, but still coming out with wins! They were top 2 and top 3 virtually in all their classes! With those tricky winds it only showed how much of a team these two have become and how well Sara knew her boy, in moments he was nervous, she was the calm, and it was amazing to watch. These two walked away High Point Novice English for the weekend!

🍭Too Chocolatey For U & Elouise Scanlon🍭
What a big weekend for these two as they improved so much this show from the last! Showing the all around Leadline in both English and Western; they Earned their 1st BLUE together in the class she was most nervous for the 1st show- showmanship! She also then won her first ever BIG ribbon earning Reserve Champion Leadline English! She was virtually top 4 in all her classes this weekend. Their partnership and Elouise’s love for showing only makes me so excited to see where rest of season they go!

💐CR Klassic Invite & Raselle Gilbert💐
These two had their 2nd show together and April’s 2nd show cantering ever, and once again these two walked away with a blue ribbon! With whipping winds and spooky things around, they both stayed focused and got the job done! They then stayed in the ribbons their main show day and had some great rides! Only more to come from these two!!

🏁Hunting For A Party & Sawyer Merring-Murray🏁
Another big weekend for these two! Showing the Leadline All Around in Western and English, these two were top in all their classes and won more blues together in their showmanship, pleasure, and equitation! They got 2 big ribbons this weekend with High Point English Leadline and Reserve High Point Western! I also took “Boo” in the W/J Memorial class and with 21 in the class, we walked out first! She cruised right along the whole time, and is getting better everytime out!!

🚨Code Me Cute & Layne Brown-Swisher🚨
2nd show in the books for these two and many improvements! They nailed their 2nd trail go, landing first, but that’s not all he landed 1st in, he also won the novice WP, & HMS as well! He landed virtually all 2nds in all his youth classes landing him Reserve High Point Youth Western! More exciting things to come as these two become a team!

🎈Little Red Assets & Rebekah Watson🎈
2nd show this season for these two and we tried some new classes! We felt this giant 3yo would look like he belonged in the hunter in hand, which the judge agreed landing 4th out of 14 horses! He then went on to try showmanship as well, landing top 6 his first pattern! He also placed in the ribbons in both his in hand trail classes! We love how he is willing to try new things and kept his brain together with all the crazy weather!

☀️ Early Shine & Peyton Antalek☀️
This was this duo’s first show, and Peyton’s first performance show; and these 2 rocked it!! With big classes and lots of learning, they managed to walk away with a 3rd in the youth W/T WP and 3rd in the W/J Memorial with 21 horses in it! We loved watching these two find a rhythm and have fun doing it- only more to come from this team!

What a great weekend with a great barn family, cheering each other on, stepping in and helping each other; I am grateful for my teens to now take the ropes and show the littles- It truthfully is so great to see, and it makes it all worth it!
Now I’d be lying if I said we had a break before the next show, because as this is posting, we are tiding up and putting last minute things in the horse trailer to head out to the Pinto World Championship in Tulsa OK! More news to come as we hit the road again!

It’s only been a couple days since we got back from our last show at the Spring Fling May Flowers AQHA show, which means it’s time for a recap!
We had a small group of horses but it also gave us plenty of time to focus and get these horses ready to roll down the road to Oklahoma in just a couple weeks!

🧬Best Get Your Genes & Nate Ray🧬
These two made their maiden voyage under saddle! Every ride they got more solid and came home with many 2nds & 3rds! They also had a maiden voyage in the showmanship landing many plus’s landing in the top 4! They did revisit some familiar territory and stood in the halter pen with many first and even took home 2 Reserve Champions in the amateur mares! A great first outting for the year and under saddle!! We are so excited to see what the next couple weeks bring for these two!

🔷Reinvest In Blue🔷
“Lucy” came to get a few more trail runs under her belt, and that she did! 3rds across the board in the green trail and landing top 4 in the All breed warm up go! She is finding her groove over the poles and is looking real cool doing it!

🥃Any Ol Barstool🥃
“Jloww” still being a youngster, we decided to ride her around in the busy warm-up pens, and get her exposed to as much as we can, and she has handled everything in stride; She is just about ready to show under saddle, so we will be saving that maiden voyage for Oklahoma! She did stand back in the halter pen, winning her class unanimously the first go and landing first and second in her second go, standing much more like a seasoned halter horse this time!

Small crew, but still big results! Back at it next weekend with a little bit bigger of a crew, then a couple days later we are Oklahoma bound for the Pinto World Championship!!

I’d be lying if I said, I had a short quick recap coming your way but…..
It’s been a little over a week since we took 10 horses to a horse show, and that itself is not a short recap.
To say the start of the show went smoothly would be another lie- Our first trailer load of horses were dropped off, and upon loading the second trip we noticed a big bolt in my tire. If changing a tire in a quickly manner wasn’t inconvenient enough, mother nature decided to sprinkle in some rain… Heading out with the second set of horses, the rain never stopped. Most horses had to practice in an arena they were not going to be showing in the next day, in the dark, when it was cold and miserable. By the time all horses were bathed, banded, and set for the night it had me stepping into my camper at 2:45 AM… Back up in 3 ish hours I was at 6 AM for show day #1 😅
Once the show started to roll, things started to smooth out and things started to really go right, a few small hitches, but everyone SHOWED, smiled, laughed and had a great weekend despite the early onset of challenges!! More than once this weekend I was complimented on how great of a group I have, and boy do I know!! I was so proud of all the hard work that everyone has put in this winter to be showcased so bright and so blue most of everyone’s first show out! Everyone doing well in the arena, the memories made, the encouragement and support from each other- it was truly such a wonderful thing to be a part of! Some highlights;

💥Hunting A Party & Saywer Merring💥
This duo had their 2nd show together, and boy did it still shine blue!! This show they were able to compete in Leadline showmanship, Eq/horsemanship, pleasure, and trail- BOTH days, an English day & a western day. SO many top placings landed him High Point English Leadline, and Reserve High Point Western Leadline. But that wasn’t all, the halter duo themselves walked out Grand Champion Mare for the weekend! I just love how much he loves to show! As we gear up to later this season get those two in walk trot, I took “Boo” in the memorial W/J Class to see how she did on the rail… And well we came out with another blue ribbon and novelty blanket for Sawyer to add to his collection!

🍀Moxie Marvel & Sara McMicken🍀
These two really found their rhythm this weekend, and had a GREAT show! Wins in multiple classes such as Novice HUS, Youth HUS, Novice EQ, and Novice Showmanship! They were 2nd in some of the big open classes, landing them novelty blanket by being reserve in the HUS W/T Memorial class. They rounded out their weekend as High Point Novice for the Hunt Seat Portion! If one big ribbon and blanket wasn’t enough, “Marvin” also stood Reserve Halter Gelding for the weekend! So many exciting things on the schedule for these two and I cannot wait to see it!
🫟Code Me Cute & Layne Brown-Swisher🫟
This new team finally had their first show together! They are learning each-other in the show pen but still finding LOTS of blues! Wins in the Novice trail, Novice & Youth WP, and Novice & Youth Horsemanship! They placed in all of the rest of their classes, and would have been High Point Novice Western had their been 1 more person in one more of the novice classes; For their first show together, Layne’s first show loping, they handled themselves very well, with lots of deserving ribbons, and they are just getting started!

🪄Dealing With Magic & Ruby/Caleen Meehan🪄
First show out for this mom & daughter duo with their boy! Ruby & “Clyde” had a great English day landing multiple 2nds and even a 2nd in her first ever riding pattern in the English EQ, getting all their diagonals within a stride and correct! With all their success they managed to land Reserve Champion Youth Walk Trot English! Though western day did not go as planned for them, Ruby’s outlook and mindset was by far past her age and I don’t think any of us could be more proud of how she handled it!
Caleen and “Clyde” have been working all winter on their in hand events, and boy did it show! She landed a 2nd & 6th in big showmanship classes, and adding a new event, the in hand trail- landing 3rd!!
Much higher places than last year with such better patterns, confidence, and we can’t not say nothing about her new suit- chef’s kiss!

💃🏼She’s My Kinda Fancy & Nicola DiLuzio💃🏼
Second show in the books for this new team- but this time doing multiple new classes! With these multiple new classes they still brought home many ribbons, even winning ranch horse showmanship, and color horse showmanship!! (Nicola learned showmanship a week before the show) They were top 2 & 3 in most of their other classes and even brought home a big ribbon; Earning Reserve Halter mare for the weekend!! So many exciting things to come as these two continue to become a team!

💝CR Klassic Invite & Raselle Gilbert💝
This was BOTH Raselle’s and “April”’s first show of the year, AND first time cantering in a class! They handled it so well! One of my favorite moments this weekend was watching their first cantering class where “April” got a little nervous; Raselle re-collected and pushed her through it finishing the class strong- The very next class they put all the pieces together and WON the Green Horse HUS! Throughout the rest of the weekend they continued to place, gaining more confidence and trust. They haven’t gotten to the stage to slow down and “lope” so they did a little western walk jog in the open classes and was killing it landing in the top! So much to come for these two, I can’t wait to see where they go this season!

🌹Huntin Good Version LuAnne/Liz Ferrill🌹
“Rose” hasn’t been in a trailer or to a show in over a year, nor has LuAnne and her daughter Liz, it’s been many years- but they decided to go for it! LuAnne and “Rose” were top 6 in both her halter classes and then turned the reins over to her daughter for the riding portion; And WOW did “Rose” show up! She hung her head, with the occasional side eye on the rail to see if anyone would give her cookies, and jogged along, which gave Liz the upmost confidence and a big smile! Placing 2nds in her W/J classes we couldn’t be more thrilled, and being 7 months pregnant we were so happy “Rose” took care of them both! While Liz prepares to welcome a son, LuAnne will be next to take the reins under saddle and we are excited to see where they go!

🍫Too Chocolatey For U & Elouise Scanlon🍫
Our little Elouise had the best time with her Best friend “Chloe” this weekend. Trying MANY new classes, they competed in the all around English Leadline, and Western Leadline- She earned ribbons in all of her classes even getting some 2nds & 3rd in trail- which is very new to them and very exciting since they have been working on it! They had the best time and had huge improvements in the showmanship from day 1 to day 2! So much to come from these girls, and we can’t wait to see it!
💨Northern Wind & Liz Ferrill💨
With neither Liz or “Skye” being at a show together in many years, she decided she wanted to take Skye along for the field trip, they stood great in the halter but knew the “old lady” wasn’t as tight and toned as some of those other horses- but stood well and enjoyed all the attention she got throughout the weekend!

🥃Any Ol Barstool 🥃
“Jloww” came along to see the sights and ride around- which she handled so well with so little prep and attention- We were so happy this 3yo was content, and seemed to be so quiet about everything around her!

Such a great weekend, and we get to do all over again very soon!!
