FOR ADOPTION! The Harry Potter gang (three are too young to vet yet) came from a home overpopulated with strays. The homeowner took in the kittens to socialize them and keep them safe. As you can imagine, he was overwhelmed, especially since he had his own cats to care for as well. DUMBLEDORE and LAVENDER, born 6/18/26, are sweet babies that are acclimating well. They're out playing with other kittens and getting lots of attention from volunteers. Come meet them!

FOR ADOPTION! AUGUSTUS and his sister JULES, born 7/7/26, have finally been tested/vetted. They were rescued by a good samaritan from floodwaters, then spent a few weeks in foster care, being exposed to both cats and dogs. These very-bonded babies are the epitome of play; zoomies is an understatement. They’re social and confident and need an active family. They would rather play than be held, although they did sleep on their foster mom. Augustus has heterochromia: one blue eye and one copper eye. Each has a grey spot on its head. ADOPTED! Karen adopted an SCHS kitten a few weeks ago, eyeing some of the wee babes along the way. Her kitten came in for a booster shot and the little ones had been tested/vetted, so the door was definitely open to take another home. Sweet, sweet MARIE was the lucky one. Karen is going to love her...and we are going to miss her!

ADOPTED! Katie and Julie wanted to add a kitten to their household, came in last weekend to visit with the gang, and got approved. They thought their decision was made until ELTON entered the building. Understandably, they could not pass up on the opportunity to adopt this beautiful boy. They did their research and have family members that own Siamese, so let the adventure begin!

A big thank you to everyone who applied for Elton. He was adopted this afternoon.

FOR ADOPTION! ELTON, born 3/26/26, is a handsome blue point Siamese X that showed up at a home as a stray. His rescuers fed him outside, but wanted to find him a home where he'd get the care he needs. Elton is calm, sweet and talkative. His biggest adjustment is to all the other cats at the SCHS facility, but he'll settle in quickly. Please submit an adoption application at stanlycountyhumanesociety.org.

What a great weekend for the SCHS cats with eight adoptions and one going into foster care! We appreciate all who visited!

ADOPTED! Barbara was pre-approved to adopt, and just came in to see who gravitated toward her and her family and vice versa. It was a nice day to hang out on the catio and watch the antics. Ultimately, it was pretty NESSAROSE who was chosen to become a member of the family. Happy life!

ADOPTED! Luke brought his daughters in to find the perfect family kitten. It was a tough decision and opinions changed a few times over, but eventually HEAVEN was chosen. This spunky girl has been with us since she was small, so we're excited to see her finally leave the building for a loving home.
