Let’s talk muzzles! 🐾

There’s a number of reasons why a dog might wear a muzzle, not just because of aggression!

My girl, Hazel is trained to wear one because she’s fear reactive, especially at the vet. She doesn’t appreciate the up and personals, so we muzzle for everyone’s peace of mind!

Other dogs may wear them because they eat things they shouldn’t on walks.

Some dogs just need more space than others and muzzles help create that space.

All dogs should be muzzle trained, a dog that’s already conditioned to one won’t become stressed if they ever have to wear one unexpectedly at the vet or the groomers.

All dogs have the capability to bite, especially when stressed or in pain.
Even if toothless, just doing the act of biting can do damage to themselves in the salon- mouthing at the clippers or scissors for example!

Muzzles are just a safety tool, so if your groomer or vet has to use one on your pup, it’s not because they hate your dog or because they think your pup is mean! We just want to keep everyone safe.
And maybe that dog you see out on a walk just likes to eat 💩🩷

Paw pad & sanitary trim as necessary.

✂️ Full groom includes the bath, haircut, nails, paw wax, ears cleaned and accessory.
Ears plucked as necessary.

🐾 Proof of vaccinations (rabies, bordetella, distemper) due before appointment.

Not taking on XL breeds, dogs over 60lb*, or pets that have difficulty with any part of the grooming process at this time.

Prices vary per size, breed, service and fur conditions.

*Only doing contour/outline trims on large breeds at this time.

Some more quick tips! 🐛

Wondercide is a ‘natural’ tick and mosquito repellent, all dog safe essential oils.
Nothing beats the flea and tick prevention you get from your vet but adding another layer of protection doesn’t hurt!

Lint rollers after a hike for you and your pup will help take off any unwanted hitchhikers that haven’t latched on yet!

Ticks carry lyme disease and Rocky Mountain fever (both us and our pups can get!)
Bag them ticks and have your vet ID them if you can’t. Get your pups tested if the tick has been latched for a while.

🌸🐾 Springtime Pet Tips! 🐾🌸

🐾Watch Out for Seasonal Allergies
Just like people, pets can suffer from spring allergies. If your pet is sneezing, scratching, or has watery eyes, consult your vet about possible environmental triggers like pollen or grass.

🐾 Check for Fleas and Ticks
Warmer weather brings out pests. Make sure your pet is on a veterinarian-recommended flea and tick preventative, and check their coat regularly after walks or outdoor play.

🌷 Avoid Toxic Spring Plants
Many spring blooms like lilies, tulips, and daffodils are toxic to pets. Keep them out of reach and be cautious on walks where these flowers may grow wild or be part of landscaping.
