Say hello to Cookie, today's Foster Feature!

Now this face may look familiar as Cookie is our go-to pup when it comes to showing this community all the best of our shelter. Featured in our thank-you post for the overwhelming amount of food donations you all sent us, this sweet 10 year old boy is happy just as long as he gets to be a part of the fun!

While he may be a senior pup, Cookie has the heart of a much younger boy and loves to go on walks, play around, and go on adventures with his favorite humans.

He loves getting to meet new people and is quick to capture the heart of anyone who spends even just five minutes with him.

This resident grandpa is looking for a foster home to spend a short spell in to rest his achy joints and tired bones. The kennel floors are no place for a distinguished gentleman like Cookie, and we'd love to see him spend some time in a real home, even if it's just for a few short weeks while he waits for his forever family to come get him.

Meet Goosebumps, Judy Moody & Junie B. Jones, a trio of shy sweethearts. These three 3-month-old siblings are bonded for life and looking for their forever home together.

🧡 Goosebumps is the thoughtful introvert of the group. He’s often found tucked in a cozy nook, watching the world with wide eyes. He may be cautious at first, but he’s the emotional anchor of the trio, offering quiet reassurance to his sisters.

🧡 Junie B. Jones is soft, sensitive, and calm. She blossoms when she’s with her siblings and other cats, and while she won’t rush into your lap, her quiet companionship will melt your heart once she trusts you.

🧡 Judy Moody is the spunky middle child. She’s cautious but curious, keeping an eye on everything and always close to her siblings. With patience, her sassy energy brings joy to the room.

Say hello to Guinness, today's Extended Resident! He's a 3-year-old, 68-pound American Bulldog mix who came to us as a stray in March 2025. When he arrived, he was dealing with some skin issues and flea troubles, but thanks to care and time, he’s bounced back beautifully, and is ready to find his forever family!

This goofy, affectionate boy is as friendly as they come. He loves to play, adores attention, and has a way of making every day feel brighter. He does have a sensitive side, so he’s looking for a family that can give him gentle handling and a little patience as he continues to blossom.

If you’re looking for a dog with heart, humor, and a whole lot of tail wags, Guinness might just be your perfect match. Come meet him and see why this boy is worth raising a glass to!

A huge thank you to our incredible corporate volunteers from Ohio Business Machines- OBM, Cohen & Co, Summa Health, and CREW for rolling up their sleeves and making a difference at our shelter!

They went above and beyond tackling crucial tasks like:

🐾 Power washing crates and cages

🐾 Deep cleaning our Meet and Greet and Community Rooms

🐾 Washing windows and cleaning the transport van

🐾 Organizing and assembling adoption packets

🐾 Sorting and packaging pet food for our Pet Food Pantry

Thank you for providing a cleaner, more comfortable environment for every animal in our care. We are so grateful for your support! 💙

Headed to the Highland Square PorchRokr Festival today? Be sure to stop by the Cascade Auto Group's booth located on North Highland Ave. behind the Highland Branch Library, off Market Street.

This week's Foster Feature, Habanero, is a 6 year old, 75lb Bulldog mix looking for a vacation from the shelter for the little bit of summer we have left!

Now Habanero may seem like a stuffy business dog based on his picture, but trust us, this boy knows how to let loose and have fun. Habanero is the ruff and rowdy type, ready to play and tumble with humans and pups alike.

Habanero's higher energy level makes it difficult for him to settle in the shelter. While we give him all the walks and playtime we can, it's not quite enough to really tire Haby out, especially when he has to go back to a kennel afterwards.

What he really needs is a temporary foster home where he can run about and play his heart out, so that he is finally able settle and relax.

Wow… we are absolutely astonished at the amount of wet food that came in after Monday's donation request. Just yesterday, a single Amazon truck arrived with 134 boxes, all wet food donations for our shelter pets.

Cookie, the dog pictured in the original post, posed proudly with your generosity, and the kittens wasted no time turning the leftover boxes into a playground.

Your support is nothing short of heroic. You’ve made an incredible difference for our shelter and its furry residents.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! These animals couldn’t have asked for a better community. 💖
