DATE CHANGE & Info for our Donation X-Derby...

🎄 X-DERBY UPDATE: Due to the ongoing EHV-1 outbreak, we are moving our December Donation Derby to December 20-21. All current entries will be moved to the new dates, however if you can no longer make it, please let us know by Friday (NOV 28) for a full refund. We will also be extending the closing date for any new entries. Thank you for understanding!

When you arrive for the most fun show of the year (if we do say so...) you will need to please bring your own water, as we have now shut ours down for the winter, and we will make sure everyone can easily park nicely spread out on the XC course as well.

⭐ Congratulations to Susanne Brammerts (here with adorable Wallstreet Triumph), our 2025 recipient of the Betty Thorpe dressage volunteer of the year!

The Betty Thorpe award is given to the dressage volunteer who best exemplifies the late Betty's kindness, strength, willingness and generosity of spirit.

This is not Susanne's first time earning this award! She's an integral part of our team, most often as a dressage scribe because it offers an unrivaled opportunity to learn from some of the best judges around.

"Dressage is my discipline of choice. I like that it can benefit any horse, regardless of their breeding, confirmation or temperament. While competing has not been a priority for me, I enjoy scribing for dressage judges. I find it humbling, motivating, and encouraging at the same time, and I often leave with new insights that I can’t wait to try out.

"I’ve been very active in dog rescue for a while, and I knew that finding volunteers is always tough. It still took me some time to realize that your chances of being allowed to scribe at shows grow exponentially if you let organizers know that you’re available. So when I saw a last minute call for scribing help on Facebook, I felt like I won the jackpot when I was ‘picked’.

"And after scribing for several events, I consider Loch Moy as my scribing home base. The experience I have gained here earned me opportunities to scribe for some amazing judge personalities at other events, too, but Carolyn’s appreciation for Loch Moy volunteers is unrivaled in my book."

When Lily Bisson was diagnosed with breast cancer, most of the online support groups she joined didn't quite fit.

“It was the women in my local horse community who truly understood,” said Bisson, who went on to form a Facebook support group for equestrians with breast cancer and then Gallop for Life, a nonprofit, grassroots organization that supports equestrians with cancer diagnoses.
