Darcy's Heart

Darcy's Heart Pet sitting in your home since 2014. Dogs/cats/horses/chickens/goats/ferrets/reptiles-we do it all! Each day I will visit your home as many times as you request.

I care for all animals from dogs and cats to ferrets, goats, chickens, and even horses. For dogs, I suggest three times per day. For cats, once per day unless they need, or you want them to have, special attention in which case, twice per day. Other services such as a trip to the groomer or the dog park are also available for an additional fee. I will give your pets food and fresh water, give them

medication (if necessary), let them out, scoop litter, and bring in your mail and/or newspaper. I will spend approximately 20 minutes per visit with your pets, to provide them with love and attention. Money that I earn will be used to rescue/care for animals from the shelter.

Very short term fosters needed asap!

‼️ ATTENTION ABILENE!! ‼️

We need your help making one more rescue transport possible!

This Saturday, August 1st at 10:00 a.m., more than 20 dogs are scheduled to leave The PARC on their journey to rescue partners and, ultimately, their forever homes. Before they can catch their freedom ride, they just need a safe place to stay for a few days.

Can you host a rescue pup until Saturday morning? 🙏🏻🥹

Think of it as an extended sleepover! These dogs are NOT available for adoption—they have already been tagged by rescue organizations and have a destination waiting for them. We simply need temporary foster homes to help us bridge the gap until transport day.

Right now, we are completely full. Every kennel occupied by a dog waiting for transport is a kennel we can't use for another homeless pet who needs our help. By fostering for just a few days, you're helping us create space to continue saying "yes" to animals in need.

We have dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, and our Dog Team and Foster Coordinator are experts at matching each dog with the right home. Whether you're looking for a couch buddy, a walking companion, or a laid-back guest for a few days, we can help you find the perfect fit.

If you're able to foster, please fill out the foster application using the link below (if you haven't already), then stop by The PARC to meet your temporary houseguest!

Even if you can't foster, sharing this post could help us find the people who can. Together, we can get these deserving dogs on their freedom ride this Saturday and keep making room for the next animals who need us most.

Sweet, sweet patient Simon welcomed so many fosters into his home and helped each one learn to trust and love again. He encouraged countless people to start fostering, saving countless lives. He will be so very missed. Rest easy, sweet Simon. 🐾 🌈

Some dogs change one life. Simon changed thousands.

The beloved rescue dog of Isabel Klee ( Simon Sits) has crossed Rainbow Bridge after a courageous battle with inoperable liver cancer.

Rescued from the dog meat trade around 7 years ago, Simon overcame an unimaginable beginning to become a gentle teacher, helping frightened foster dogs learn to trust again. Despite living with epilepsy, he inspired millions through his quiet resilience, helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for animal welfare, and became a powerful advocate for rescue alongside his person, Isabel Klee.

When Simon was diagnosed with terminal cancer just months ago, Isabel and her partner, Jacob, made a promise that his final days would be filled with nothing but love. When it became clear that the cancer combined with his epilepsy was taking too big a toll, they decided together it was time to say goodbye so that he would not suffer and so he could pass on with dignity. In his last few days they took him hiking (one of his favorite things) and celebrated his life surrounded by family and friends.

Although Simon won't be there for Isabel and Jacob's wedding in a few months, his paw prints will be everywhere. In a video, Isabelle shared at his Celebration of Life that he got to explore their wedding venue with them, chewed a stick in the exact place where they'll exchange their vows, and will forever be part of every milestone they share.

His impact will continue far beyond the life he lived. The recently dedicated Simon Sits Veterinary Clinic will help homeless animals receive lifesaving care, while the countless foster dogs he comforted—and the families inspired to foster or adopt because of him—will carry his legacy forward.

As Muddy Paws Rescue NYC beautifully wrote: "Once in a lifetime (if you're lucky), a dog like Simon finds a human like Isabel, and it's magic. And the thing about magic is, even when something seems to disappear, it's never truly gone."

Rest easy, sweet Simon. Thank you for showing the world that love, kindness, and one extraordinary dog really can change countless lives. ❤️🐾

🩷 Vixey has waited long enough. 🐱

Vixey's story didn't start the way any cat deserves.

When her family moved away, Vixey and her kittens were left behind to fend for themselves. Before a kind community member could get to them, tragedy struck, and two of her kittens were attacked by a fox. Thankfully, that same Good Samaritan was able to rescue Vixey and her three remaining babies and bring them to safety here at The PARC.

Since then, all of Vixey's kittens have found loving homes.

But somehow... sweet Vixey is still waiting.

Today, she holds a title we'd love to take away from her: the longest stay cat at The PARC.

Vixey is a little shy when meeting new people, and because of that, she's often overlooked. Our Cat Techs want everyone to know that she isn't aggressive at all. She simply takes a little time to trust. She'll often hang back instead of rushing to greet visitors, and sadly, that means many people walk right past her.

But we know there's someone out there who understands that the best relationships are worth a little patience.

Vixey is already spayed, officially retired from motherhood, and ready for the chapter she's never truly had—the one where she gets to be someone's baby.

She doesn't need a perfect home. She just needs someone willing to give her the chance she never got before.

Do you have a home... or maybe just a lap... with a Vixey-sized hole in it? ❤️

Come by The PARC and ask to meet Vixey. Let's make sure the next chapter of her story is the happiest one yet.

He's ready for hikes, playtime, lazy afternoons on the couch, and every adventure in between.
