My reason for opening VETMed Animal Clinic
The Story Of Shadow Beni aka Benjamin.
I've never been a cat person. Perhaps it was because I've never personally interacted with one or had one as a companion. I grew up with dogs and my canine friends were all I knew.
That fated evening was dark. I heard something crying relentlessly, without pause outside my house. My poor echo-location capabilities made it difficult to find the source of this heart wrenching cry.
I searched multiple times and on my last effort, in the darkest of shadows, I saw this tiny and absolutely beautiful albeit exhausted and disheveled kitten. He was completely black with green eyes and very malnourished.
As his nutrition improved, his wiry hair
evolved into black velvet and his musculature developed. He was as sleek as a Panther, living up to his predecessors in behaviour and mannerisms. His antics made my heart smile and his cattitude astounded me. You don't go to Shadow beni, he comes to you....when he's ready and on his own time. What was never questionable was his reciprocation of love, protection and faithfulness to me.
Very unlike dogs I would often think as Shadow taught me feline behaviour, personalities, feeding habits, healthcare and nutrition.
Since I rescued Shadow, I've rescued 9 more kittens, extracting them varying horrendous backgrounds, from being tied and dumped in a garbage bag in a forest to abuse at the hands of an animal hoarder.
Shadow was the catalyst that opened my heart to the wonderful world of cats and the doors to VETmed Animal Clinic (along with Maya - another story to come). Animals' intelligence will forever amaze and astound me and I feel so honoured to interact with them.
At VETmed Animal Clinic we strive to provide quality and compassionate health services to these wonderful creatures.
No more long hours of fasting and delayed surgeries, no more horror stories of botched procedures and no more bad attitudes from Veterinary staff to concerned, worried and anxious pet parents.
This is our goal.
Here at VETmed Animal Clinic, we will follow up on these beautiful babies and do
our best along with pet parents to provide them with an extended, healthy and happy quality of life. This would be our pleasure, hence:
‘Happy Pets, Happy Vets’.
Benjamin (and Maya) are the inspirations for our committment, dream and drive.
All hail King Benjamin! 🐾 🐾 🐾
