This following x-rays show the recent progress of a young puppy who underwent ORIF surgery 6 weeks ago for a fracture repair.

We used a 1.2 mm titanium plate and pin, and incorporated laser therapy to aid in faster healing. The results demonstrate excellent bone healing, thanks to early surgical intervention, implant choice, and ongoing care.

We sincerely commend the owners for their dedication throughout the recovery process.

A patient of ours returned for a 6-week post-operative check following open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of a forelimb fracture.

The radiographs include pre-op, post-op, and current views. Progressive healing is evident, early callus formation is visible, though full radiographic union has not yet been achieved.

Titanium implants were used due to their biocompatibility, strength, and corrosion resistance. It is preferred when financially feasible.

Restricted activity and continued monitoring are advised. Prognosis remains good.

Mammary gland hyperplasia is a condition where a cat’s mammary glands (breasts) become enlarged. It happens most often in young, unspayed female cats due to hormone changes.

Signs to Watch For:
• Sudden swelling of the mammary glands
• Redness or warmth in the area
• Pain or discomfort

This condition is hormone-driven. If left untreated, it can lead to infections or serious tissue damage.

Spaying Is the Solution.
Spaying stops the hormone cycle that causes this problem. In most cases, the swelling goes away after spaying. It also prevents:
• Mammary tumors (often cancerous in cats)
• Uterine infections
• Unwanted pregnancies

If your cat shows any signs of swelling in the mammary area, contact us immediately.

A feline patient was presented with a chronic, progressive tumor on the right ear, extending into the ear canal. Given the persistent nature and growth of the tumor, a Total Ear Canal Ablation and Bulla Osteotomy (TECABO) was performed. Despite postoperative challenges, including dehiscence and infection, the surgical site is now nearly healed.

This procedure has significantly improved the patient’s quality of life, alleviating chronic discomfort and preventing further complications.

A recent feline patient presented with a chronic, non-healing wound that progressed to severe infection and distal limb necrosis. After thorough evaluation and considering the extent of tissue damage, limb amputation was deemed the most appropriate and life-saving treatment.

Thanks to the trust and collaboration of the referring clinic and the pet’s dedicated owner, the surgery was performed successfully. We’re happy to report that our resilient patient was discharged just a few days post-operation.
