If an animal runs to you during the rain, please donโ€™t push them away. Theyโ€™re cold, scared, and just trying to stay alive. You might be the only safe place they have.

When the rain pours and floodwaters rise, our animals depend on us more than ever. They feel fear, cold, and desperation just like we do. Yet too often, theyโ€™re left behindโ€”chained, caged, or locked up with no way to escape the rising danger.

If you must evacuate, take them with you. If you cannot, set them free. Give them a chance to find higher ground, shelter, or kind strangers. Animals have instincts to survive, but they cannot use them if we trap them behind metal bars or closed doors.

A pet is family, not property. No animal deserves to drown alone or shiver in fear in a locked cage while help is out of reach. Love means protecting them, even if it means letting them run free when you canโ€™t protect them yourself.

Please, when the storms comeโ€”remember: never leave them behind.
