We need your help for a very special girl 💔

Meet Tilly - a 6-month-old Sharpei X who has already been through far too much in her short life. Tilly suffered from neglect, and while she’s now been treated for mange (don’t worry, it’s not contagious), what she needs most is a safe and loving place to finally thrive.

Tilly is:
🐾 Happy, sociable, and very active
🐾 A quick learner with so much potential
🐾 Not house trained (yet!) and has had no formal training - she needs someone patient and consistent
🐾 Looking for a foster who is home a lot, experienced, and willing to give her the 1-on-1 time she deserves.

We’re looking for a truly special foster - someone who can help Tilly learn, grow, and feel safe. With the right person, she will blossom into the wonderful dog we know she can be.

☕🐾 Volunteer of the Month

A huge congratulations to Rebecca Robins – our Espresso Loco Volunteer of the Month for August! 🎉👏

Becs is one of those incredible people who quietly grafts away in the background, keeping everything running smoothly. Not only is she a massive part of our shelter team, walking and working with the dogs - but she’s also a pretty awesome cook! 👩‍🍳🔥

From running the entire kitchen at our Quiz Night to manning the BBQ for our 1st Birthday celebration (and more!), Becs is always there to lend her skills and her heart. 💛

Thank you so much Becs for everything you do for Ruahine Animal Rescue - we’re so lucky to have you on the team.

🎉🐾 With great excitement we can officially announce… our MEGA Fiji Raffle winner has been drawn! 🏝️✈️

Today Carma and Amber visited the Waipukurau Police Station, where one of the officers kindly drew the lucky ticket for us. And the winning ticket belongs to... Ange D! 🙌

Amber picked up the phone to give Ange the good news, and she was absolutely in shock. Later she texted back to say:

“Thanks SO much!!!! Sorry I’m in shock a bit – I’ve never won anything like this x”

We’re so thrilled for you Ange – what an amazing prize to win! 💙

🧡 Mitre 10 – You Absolute Legends! 🧡

Yesterday we were also lucky to have Tohu and some of the awesome team from Mitre 10 Waipukurau drop by the shelter - not just to see the results of their incredibly generous timber donation, but to spend some quality time with two of our favourite residents, Nala and Otto 🐶🐶

We’re pretty sure that if the team had left the ute door open a second longer, both pups would’ve hitched a ride straight back to Mitre 10 HQ! 😄 Luckily, the crew are now helping us spread the word about these two gorgeous dogs in the hopes of finding them loving forever homes.

The timber Mitre 10 donated was used by Ben and Mark from BC Andersen Building to repair the shed that was originally donated and built by Cleva Chiropractic with groundwork help from BDF EARTHWORKS LTD. It’s looking amazing - and it's all thanks to the power of community.

We’re so grateful to the all our supporters. not only for the materials, but for giving their time, kindness, and support to our rescue. Businesses like yours make all the difference to what we can achieve. 💛
