We still have many gorgeous, intelligent, and cheeky Muscovy ducks looking for their forever
homes!
To adopt, you’ll need a rural or lifestyle property with a fun water source and a safe, grassy area where they can roam. Muscovy ducks are a joy to have around, they’re friendly, full of personality, and will happily greet you with their adorable waggly tails.
These ducks are being rehomed as pets only. They are not available for eating, breeding, or
resale.
If you’re in the Wellington or Manawatu regions and would love to give one (or more!) of these wonderful
ducks a loving home, we’d love to hear from you.

At 12 years young, Luke is a true gentleman who is looking for a quiet place to call home. ❤️

Luke is looking for a home where he can be the only pet and where there are no children. He would love a family who understands that older dogs still have so much love, fun and companionship to give.

Don’t let Luke’s age fool you this boy still enjoys getting out for a walk, having a play with his favourite balls and, most importantly, having a good splash in the water!

Luke also has quite the collection of stuffed toys, so you could say he’s got his retirement entertainment well and truly sorted. 😂

After some fun and adventure, Luke is perfectly happy to find a sunny spot and settle in for a well-earned nap. ☀️💤

Luke is looking for someone who will give him the peaceful, loving home he deserves for his golden years. A home where he can enjoy the simple things, be spoiled rotten and spend his days doing what he loves most.

Another huge pallet of has arrived at HUHA, helping keep the cats and dogs in our care fed and happy for another month 💛

RECENT ARRIVALS — MEET THE HILL BULLYS! 🐾

Say hello to Whisky, Malibu & Tennessee🥹❤️

This gorgeous little trio were recently being advertised around Facebook Marketplace when a kind-hearted person stepped in, snapped them up and surrendered them to us so they could have a much brighter future🐾

At just 9 weeks old, these three Bully mixes are cute as a button and already melting hearts! 😍

Whisky — Male

Malibu — Female

Tennessee — Female

They’re still settling in, but they’ll be ready for adoption in the next few weeks once they’re old enough and ready to head off to their forever homes🏡❤️

Macie and Leo

These two gorgeous siblings are 6-month-old Neo Mastiff crosses, and they’re both looking for their forever homes 💙

Macie (blue collar)
Macie is a soft, gentle and sweet girl. She’s inquisitive and loves exploring, but there’s nothing she enjoys more than having her people close. She’s a total love bug who adores a good snuggle 🥰

Macie has made lots of friends with the other dogs in our care. She enjoys a little play, but she’s equally happy just hanging out and peacefully coexisting with her fur friends.

Leo
Leo is a little more exuberant than his sister and absolutely LOVES to play! He’s made some great friendships with the other dogs in our care and loves nothing more than a good zoom around with his buddies 😂

He may be a little busier than Macie, but Leo is also very happy to hand out plenty of kisses and cuddles💙

Both of these beautiful pups are expected to grow into large-breed dogs, so we’re looking for families who understand and love the commitment that comes with owning a big dog 🐶

🐾🧡 Happy International Dog Day! 🧡🐾

Today we’re celebrating the dogs who make our days brighter, busier, muddier and a whole lot more special 🐶

Every beautiful face you see in this post is currently available for adoption at HUHA and waiting for the right person to come along and change their life.

Behind each of these faces is a story. Some have come to us needing time to heal, some have needed help learning to trust again, and others simply found themselves without a home to call their own. Whatever their journey, our team is here to give them the care, rehabilitation and love they need while we help them take that next step towards a forever home ❤️

This International Dog Day, there are a few ways you can help:

🏡 Adopt – One of these gorgeous dogs might just be the companion you’ve been looking for.

📲 Share – Even if you can’t adopt, please share this post far and wide. You never know whose feed it might land on, and your share could help the right person find the right dog 🐾

🐷 The best kind of tour stop? One that comes with sleepy pigs and plenty of scratches💛

Lulu the Kune Kune and Roxy the Captain Cooker were more than happy to soak up a few gentle pats during one of our Behind the Scenes Sanctuary Tours.. in fact, they were so relaxed they nearly snoozed right through it😴
