🪿 Update on the Silverstream goose

We have now examined and X-rayed the Silverstream goose that was brought to us for assessment. Unfortunately, the X-rays confirmed that he has a broken wing.

The good news is that he is now being transferred to a specialist bird rehabilitation facility, where he will receive the ongoing care and support he needs during his recovery.

Thank you to everyone who showed concern for this beautiful bird and helped ensure he received prompt attention. We wish him all the best on his rehabilitation journey and will share any updates if they become available. 💚🦢

Unfortunately we have had a deceased cat brought into clinic today. Female (unsure if desexed), no chip, roughly 5 years old. She is a tabby with short white socks on front legs and long white socks on back legs.
Found by 6 Kennedy grove, Stokes Valley. Give the clinic a call on Monday if you think she might be yours.

ANZAC Day is about honouring those who served and sacrificed, and we join our community in taking a moment of respect.

We will be open for consultations throughout the day.

⚠️ Parvo Alert – Hutt Valley Area ⚠️

We’ve been informed of a confirmed parvovirus case linked to a local clinic dog that has recently been walked in several Hutt Valley parks.

Parvo is highly contagious and can be fatal, especially for puppies and unvaccinated dogs. The virus can survive in the environment for long periods, including on grass, paths, and even shoes.

Please take extra precautions:
• Ensure your dog’s vaccinations are up to date
• Avoid high-traffic dog areas if your pup is not fully vaccinated
• Keep a close eye on your dog for symptoms (lethargy, vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite)
• Practice good hygiene (clean shoes, wash hands after walks)

If your dog shows any signs of illness, contact your vet immediately.
