Thank you to our sponsors of our two cup races yesterday at Hawera.

Yesterdays winners of the cup races are

Stratford Cup Hcp Pace was Barbarossa paying $58.00 & $9.40 a blow out, with horses lined up across the track (see photo)

Stratford Hcp Trotting Cup was won by Sans Au Revoir paying $10.80 & $3.20

Please support our local sponsors and thank you to them as without them we wouldn’t be able to hold our races.

Again, I want to remind you the trots are on at Hawera again tomorrow Sunday 2nd February

Let’s support our local businesses who support our local club and our local trainers.
Racing Friday and Sunday sadly at Hawera but it’s a start.
I’m sure there will be plenty of things to keep the kids entertained and plenty of action on track.
So let’s support our local businesses by having a punt on the two Stratford Cup races

We would love to see you there on course at the combined club meeting, but if you can’t make down there, then get your bets on the two races that our local businesses are supporting they are -

***ALLAN MCCULLOUGH PAINTERS STRATFORD HCP TROTTING CUP*** running at 4.44pm

The second day is on Sunday 2nd February.

It is with sadness that we announce that a foundation member (since he was 21) of our club has passed away.
“Collie” as he was affectionately known passed away just before Christmas.
We as a club and our membership would like to pass on our sincerest condolences to the Hancock family at the loss of their father, brother, uncle, grandfather.
Collie was a Stratford icon and much loved in the racing game on both sides of the code.
There wasn’t a meeting at Stratford that he would’ve missed, and if he did there would’ve been a very good reason why he wasn’t present.
His interest in the racing game was passed onto some of his children who themselves owned and bred and still follow horse racing.

Collie, we thank you for your many decades (7 of them = 70 years) of membership and friendship in our community.
You will be deeply missed by those who knew you.

Yesterday afternoon the buildings at the race course were again vandalised, windows broken, things strewn about, kitchen crockery smashed outside on the drive, you name it they did it.

Did you hear or see these kids around the race course late Sunday afternoon?

This is not the first time they have done this!

If you know who these kids are can you please either PM me or inform the police.

Stupid META closing down all sorts of pages. Oh well 🤦🏼‍♀️👏

Gidday members,
Long time since we have posted on the page, But for Some reason “META” think that we have breached community standards, which I can only guess is having a horse/animal promotion page which non racing people/greenies take exception too.
As no one can remember our password to put in a review of this closure we have no recourse 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
If things change for us here in Stratford then we will open another sort of page/group.
Sorry for this happening not only to our page but many pages/groups are being closed by META, so we are not alone.
It has nothing to do with the fact that we haven’t posted in ages it’s just a thing that’s happening to many groups/pages, example local buy and sell pages, knitting groups, you name it many are getting shut down.
Don’t forget to support your local trainers although there aren’t too many left now, perhaps follow the local gallopers instead 🤣
Thank you All for your support of us over the decades and we hope with fingers crossed that the racing industry can change and bring some sort of racing back here 🤞

If we start up again we will send out as many invites as we can, thank you all once again for your unbiased support of us both on course and on the page.
