The Diviner continued his fantastic run of form winning Race 4 over 1400m at Kurow today. This is his third win since joining the stable of Nayton Mitchell just a year ago and looks to have more in store. He is getting better with time and improving to be incredible versatile. Bred by Sam and Libby along with Mark Freeman, the mare has a lovely War Decree filly at foot.

Today kicked off the first parade for our New Zealand Bloodstock 2026 Yearlings and the kids paraded like they have been in prep for months, not weeks! A draft of little professionals who were very well received.

To see him win his third race today under a beautiful ride from Yogesh really is a testament to the hard working team at Nayton Mitchell Racing and to the heart of the horse, he has made us so proud today. As part of the Melbourne Cup long lunch auctions we were able to organise in conjunction with the Manawatu Car Club a drift experience that was purchased for a generous $1,800!
Today Mitchell was able to jump in the hot seat (thanks to his boss not being able to make it) and go for a ride with NZ’s number 2 drifter Dave Steedman.
Huge thanks to Dave for putting up the seat and Jodie from the Manawatu Car Club for organising it all.

Melbourne Cup day was extra special as we spent the day with good friends while helping to raise over $165,000 for the Rescue Helicopter at a fun filled Charity Luncheon. The cherry on top was El Vencedor showing his prowess at Headquarters, powering home to win the G3 Balmerino Stakes for Mark and David. What a fantastic day!!

The long weekend has seen some great results on the track from our Highden Park Graduates all kicking off new campaigns. Beginning on Saturday we saw the Chad Ormsby trained Master Fay (Deep Field) make his way back to the winners circle at Ellerslie taking out race 4 with Sam McNab on board.
At Riccarton we got to see what’s in store for Kids Got Gears (Magnus) this season with a solid first start for his new trainer Nayton Mitchell that should have him spot on for Cup Week.
On Sunday, Kosta (War Decree), trained by Mike Breslin battled through the field making a lunge for the finish line to pick up his second win at his seventh start.
Congratulations to all connections, some exciting campaigns ahead!

Elusive Impact finished off the days racing at Timaru today by making it win number 4 for breeders/owners Ricky and Anna Rhodes. The Lance Robinson trained gelding by Impending stormed home making it a special win as the dam Elusive Tracy unfortunately passed away this season foaling down 🕊️. Congratulations to all connections

When Patrick Payne landed the final bid for our Shocking/Centilly C**t at Karaka 2023, it was a match made in staying heaven. Roll on Race 4 at Echuca on Saturday and it was no surprise to see Customer Service score impressively over 2100m at just start 4. What a blessing when our yearlings land exactly where they are meant to be 🙏

Congratulations to El Vencedor for taking out the Champion middle distance horse award and the supreme award of Horse Of The Year at the NZ Thoroughbred racing awards last night. Congratulations to breeders and owners Mark Freeman and David Price, another wonderful accolade for such a deserving horse/owner/trainer team.
