Meet Tesh 💁🏼‍♀️
The first thing you need to know? Roped into the horse world against her will. Does she love it? Yes. Will she admit it? No.
A jack of all trades; she can drive trucks, tractors, forklifts you name it. She is forklift certified, but we have two roller doors and copious feed bags that would say otherwise.

Queen of organisation and the reason Highfields runs seamlessly, she is absolutely not afraid of hard work. However, is easily encouraged if cold b**rs are involved. Her diet consists of coffee, b**r and Pump water. Occasionally a cheese and cracker.

Can’t get hold of Kurt? There is a 99% chance you’ve dealt with Tesh because she actually answers her phone.

She has a dream of being a flower farmer (there is a high chance you have been forced to look at photos of her dahlias, received bouquets, or traded tubers) but we keep refusing to accept her resignation letter, much to her disgust!

Her favourite part of her job? Her customers 🤎 (and the fact she can take her (needy) sidekick, Frost, wherever she goes) 🤍

Matching today’s vibe to the current weather situation… 🌧️ Dark. Gloomy. Slightly questionable.

But if we’re going to embrace the gloom, we may as well make it chic. 🖤

Did you know one of our sponsored riders is currently training to become a farrier? 👀

Parys recently came into the store and picked out a few hoofcare products to put through their paces out on clients’ horses. Over the coming weeks, she’ll be sharing their experience with the products, along with some practical advice on where and when they can be useful.

First up: Seedy Toe. 🐴

Seedy toe is a common hoof issue that can be caused by a number of factors, including prolonged wet or dry conditions, long periods between trims, and weak or cracked hooves — just to name a few.

Lately, we’ve been trialling Keratex Hoof Putty for treating seedy toe, and we’ve been really impressed with the quality and ease of use of the product.

From our experience, you’ll need a butter knife or something similar to ‘scrape’ a small amount of product from the jar. Once you have enough, work the putty between your fingers until it becomes soft and tacky, then work it into and fill the cavity.

We’ll be sharing more from Parys as they put these products to the test, so keep an eye out for the next one! 👀

Meet Racheal - our full-time shop gal, Queen of Flat Lays and the reason the shop always looks so good! ✨ If there’s a beautiful display to be made, you can guarantee Racheal is behind it - she somehow has a talent for making everything look just right.

She’s been riding for just shy of 30 years and is now firmly in her showing era, where looking pretty, turning heads and most importantly, staying on is the goal. She occasionally likes to pretend she can still jump too… with varying levels of success! 😬🐴

When it comes to bits and saddles, Racheal is your girl. She loves nothing more than talking all things tack and is confident selling pretty much everything in the shop - mainly because there’s a very good chance she’s already tried it herself 👀

She can sometimes look a little serious when you first meet her, but don’t let that fool you - she’s much friendlier than her resting face might suggest! 😆

And then there’s her slight habit of spending all her money here… but in her defence - she’s simply supporting the business. 💸😂

Time to meet more the team behind Highfields!!

Elly (the other owner) is the reason products mysteriously disappear from the shop floor…. She conveniently appears the second anything new arrives, with a very convincing explanation for why it should be hers 👀👀

She’s also notoriously hard to get hold of, which is probably because she’s busy chasing around two young kids, managing five horses as well as running the farm along side Kurt. You may not always see her but she is always busy behind the scenes 🐮🐑

She has been in the saddle since she was 8, with Eventing and Show Hunter being her main focus, she has dabbled in a bit of everything.
These days, though, you’re more likely to find her shifting stock than chasing titles.

Elly thinks she can multitask but the evidence suggests otherwise… five jobs started, three new ideas added, two kids demanding attention, the shopping list somehow involved, and approximately zero things actually finished. 😂
We are still trying to figure out how she got her degree…
