Get your colouring pencils ready — it’s time for some spooky fun! 🐾🧙‍♀️

We’re hosting a Halloween Colouring Competition with three age groups so everyone can join in the fun:
🧡 Ages 5 and under
💜 Ages 5–10 years
🖤 Ages 10–15 years

Simply pick up your colouring template from our clinic, get creative, and bring your masterpiece back to us by Thursday 30th October!

🎁 Prizes will be awarded for the most creative entries in each age group — so let your imagination run wild!

Winners will be announced on Friday 31st October, just in time for Halloween! 🎃

⚠️Community Notice - Parvovirus Warning⚠️

𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗩𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗥𝗨𝗦 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
Currently, we have been treating numerous cases of Parvovirus. This is a very serious viral infection that can lead to severe dehydration and death. Vaccinating your dog is the best way to help prevent canine parvovirus infection.

🐶𝗗𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗔 𝗣𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗬 (under 12 months of age)? Have they completed their 𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 vaccination course to cover them for Parvo? This means you have followed the vaccination protocol as advised by your vet and had all required booster vaccinations.

🐶𝗜𝗦 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗔𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗚 𝗨𝗣-𝗧𝗢-𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗩𝗢 𝗩𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡? This means you have followed the vaccination protocol as advised by your vet?

New Plymouth Vet Group’s advice, with the vaccine we currently use, is for puppies to receive at a minimum, their final puppy vaccination at 12 weeks of age. 𝗔 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱. Following this puppy course, a booster vaccination is due in 12 months.

The cost to treat a dog who contracts parvovirus can cost up to $2000 so ensuring your dog is up to date with their vaccination regime is your best prevention method.

Did you know our after hours service runs from:
🕕 6pm–7:30am on weekdays
🕕 Friday 6pm–Saturday 9am
🕕 Saturday 12pm–Monday 7:30am

During this time, our full daytime team of 25+ staff reduces down to just 2 vets who are on call, working overtime to look after emergencies. Because of this, an after hours consultation is usually about double the daytime price.

Example: If you get home at 4pm during normal business hours and your pet doesn’t look well, please call us then — don’t wait until after hours. Daytime consults are more affordable, and you’ll have the whole team and full resources available.

Fourteen and a half years between these moments,
and Marco is still as handsome.

At this time of year, it’s common to come across baby ducklings — but before you scoop them up, here are some important things to know:

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻:
💛Mum may have just been scared off and is likely nearby.
💛Give the ducklings some time — she will often return when she hears them calling.
