Leo went to his new home today
My first silver tabby Cornish .
Kissy's kittens all doing well , photos will be posted once they are older.
Not long now until "B" Sunset Miss B Havin" has her kittens early August.' She is looking quite portlly!
There should be a variety of colours .
Hoping that there will be a keeper!
Sunset Braveheart (Bruce ) has now been desexed and and I want to place him with someone who will enjoy his affectionate nature contact me for details

Kissy finally had her kittens
3 days late but all well and a really happy mum.
In the morning before they were born she never stopped pacing and wanting to use the outdoor part of the kittening area .Although everything seemed fine .
I tried to settle her but then went inside to attend to the others all waiting to be fed.
Left her for 2hours and then checked and you would think I had a different cat purring non stop and eating so well
This was a day of waitng as she had 3 kittens and seemed so content.
I thought that I could feel another one but no straining so left her in peace with the three .Then. 2hrs later 2 more and she was purring with her tongue hanging out a really happy mum.
However in the early hours she produced number 6 .
All good weights 2 blacks They will be black. smoke and 4 black bicolours
Haven't settled on all the sexes yet because Kissy prefers to snuggle them and curls around them.
I try to always work with the mother and not interfere unless there is a problem.
It is a long time since I had such a spread out kittensing but alls well
Getting photos is not easy! Better ones will be when they are older.

Wishing everyone an enjoyable and successful day at the Hamilton Cat Club's show on Sunday.
Thank goodness I now have email etc . Makes one realise how dependent we are when things go wrong
The litter of four kittens will bve traveling to their new owners in August.
Plenty plenty to look forward to with kittens due 19th July and early August
The first litter will probably be black , black bicolour with possibilty of blue or pointed
The later litter expected isfrom "Sunset Miss B Havin" I have attached a photo of last year's kittens as she produces a mix of colours
These kittens will be by my lovely black smoke boy

He is also the father of "Sunset Braveheart" (Bruce) who will be available when neutered later this year.

Thanks Debbie for advising people of my internet problems,
Finally my internet and Messenger are restored .
Wiill post news tomorrow as there will be some very interesting kittens due August and September .

Just home from a fantastic weekend at the National Cat Show in Christchurch
So proud of Denise Barron's "Sunset Freud" who was overall Supreme Winner of the show .
Freud is such a showman who just loves a crowd to appreciate him much to the amusement of a lot of people at the show
We all dream of having a cat like that in the show ring
Some photos will be on Denise's page soon.
How I wish that I could repeat that mating of 4 kittens who turned out so well .
However Freud's sister " Sunset La Vie en Rose"lives with my good friend Bradley Jones of Kalizma Cattery in Melbourne.
She has kittens at present so of course sometime soon Freud will have his niece arriving to join my cat family and maybe for me to show next show season.
I also owe so much to Jean -Pierre Filppi. of des Nesmes Cattery in France who sent me such beautiful cats many years ago that are now in all my cat's pedigrees
Together with Bradley's help we are getting there!
Of course one is always trying to breed something special and I am so lucky. to have studs that pass on their good nature.
Also It was great catching up with old friends that I have not seen for a very long time and a lot of pet owners who are now good friends
I had an entry in the kitten section, a black smoke boy only 4 months old "Sunset Braveheart" (Bruce ) who did so well and was in the top 10 in several rings . 28 kittens were entered
My biggest thrill was Ring 3 With judge Phillipa Perkins who awarded him the BAM (Breeders Award of Merit) even though he was not in the Top 10 .
Because I have been besotted with my Cornish Rex for about 30 years it was great to see someone appreciate Bruce who is the equivalent of a human teenager with his antics and who loves being on the move and thinks he should be inclued in all activities.
Also thank you Phillipa for his lovely rosette as judge's choice you made my day

Many thanks to Debbie Mason and Denise Barron for the marvellous photos taken at Mid Island show last week.
We had a great weekend with all three cats placing and of course Denise's Sunset Freud Supreme Shorthair.
Debbie's "Sunset Backberry Lace " first in one ring.
I had the baby "Sunset Braveheart " just 4 months and 2 weeks and he was Runner Up BIS in one ring. I was thrilled how he behaved

Why do I choose Cornish Rex?

Because it's one of the most underrated breeds. And to be honest — a bit wrong.

They are not talked about enough. Rarely do they appear "in sight".
But people who have lived with a Cornish Rex at least once rarely return to other breeds.

It's not "just a cat".
It's character, energy and a true connection.

The Cornish Rex is extremely people-oriented. He’s not working beside you — He’s with you. In touch, in motion, in everyday life.
He wants to be in your world.

Their looks are not for everyone — wavy fur, slender silhouette, big ears.
But it is in this difference that their strength lies.
They're not like the others — and they don't try to be.

It's a race of heat — literally and emotionally.
They seek closeness, contact, they love to be next to you, sleep next to you, take part in everything you do.

The Cornish Rex is not a choice for people looking for a "cat on the couch".
But if you're looking for a true companion, this may be just the one.

And maybe it's because they're not massive — they go to the people who choose consciously
