Registered with NZCF since 1991 . My cats are my obsession!

25/10/2026

The kittens almost ready to go and have the run of the house while I weigh and worm them and general tidy up of the sunroom where they sleep.
They think that it is the ultimate playground even stealing Reggie(Chihuahua)'s pig's ear .
Now back in the sunroom as 1pm is definitely snooze time.
The girls are just about ready to go to new homes being spayed , 2 vaccinations. microchipped and registered with NZCF and NZCR
These two are younger sisters of Sunset Braveheart (Bruce) who I have posted photos of before and they are going to be similar in type born 23/07/2026
While they will make excellent pets it would be lovely to see one probably "Sunset Eliana" in the show ring
Of course she is still very immature so it is just a guess. The first photos are of her then Dandi the cream bo
Also The younger cream(?) boy will be available later in November At the moment he shows tabby markings from his grandfather but these may fade as he matures Born 10/08/2026

Many many congratulations to Denise Barron and Sapphire Grand premier Sunset Freud on achieving First in the NZCF Annual Awards for neuter cats. and to Debbie Mason of Zebracatz cattery for 5th Place in the Entire kitten with her lovely Utopia
Finally a big surprise for my boy Sunset Braveheart (Bruce) 10 th in the entire kittens when he only went to 3 shows and is now desexed and loving his new home .

Team Sunset had a marvellous show season Denise and Debbie helping me to attend shows in so many ways
Now to plan for next season!

4am starts are not always welcome in winter but I have made so may good friends over the years at shows
My cats are my obsession but thanks to my NZ friends my Australian and French friends my journey continues to try to breed better and better examples of the breed
Without their help and tolerance it would have been difficult!

Denise Barron has put a page up with her cat Freud. (the ultimate show cat!) being judged and you can hear the judges comments
This especially for my vet and vet nurse friends who think I'm mad!!!

Some fine weather at last but the kittens still need their heat pads at night and we have had such cold winds .
Just " Miss Rosetta " now spayed 2nd vac and microchipped available.
Later in November "Dandi" the creamt (?) red boy .
Such a unusual colour at present as mum is a blue tortie and white and dad is black smoke
Dandi looks a peachy colour at present .
It is a very active house at present because they have been allowed in the outside run which has shade cloth for summer
A marvellous playground for them as they treat it like a trampoline and delght in being out of sight when I try to take photos .

Why is the Cornish Rex so attached to humans? ❤️
Www.fancy-rex.co.il
When people first see a Cornish Rex, attention usually draws to their appearance: huge ears, unusual head, long elegant body, and short wavy fur.
But once you live with a Cornish Rex, you quickly realize: the most unusual thing about this breed is not its appearance at all.
It's their attitude towards humans.
The Cornish Rex often doesn't just want to be somewhere nearby. It wants to be with you.
You sit down — it settles next to you or on your lap.
You work — it's interested in what's happening on your desk.
You move to another room — and it appears there in a minute.
You come home — and it greets you.
Sometimes it seems that the Cornish Rex doesn't understand at all why a person has decided to do something without its participation. 😊
And it's not just curiosity.
The Cornish Rex is a companion cat
Over the years of working with the breed, I've repeatedly seen how important emotional contact with humans is for these cats.
They love touch, communication, and play. Many are happy to sit on your hands, climb onto your shoulders, sleep next to their owner, and literally accompany the person around the house.
That's why I don't like to describe the Cornish Rex simply as a "cuddly breed."
Cuddly cats come in all sorts of breeds.
The Cornish Rex has another quality — a strong orientation towards humans. It wants to be part of your life.
This is what the future owner needs to understand even before the kitten arrives at home.
A beautiful home is not enough
You can buy wonderful beds, toys, sets, provide quality nutrition and perfect care.
All this is necessary.
But Cornish Rex requires another resource that cannot be bought:
your time.
You need to talk to it, play with it, communicate with it. It is important for it to feel not like an unattractive animal living in the house, but a member of the family

Thank you to Fancy Rex for allowing me to share their post
