Introducing Jack Black! Unfortunately, you won't find any portrait-style photos of Mr. Jack, as he’s either busy chasing the camera or having fun.

Jack Black is a 1-2 year old black male cat. He’s incredibly affectionate and playful, making him a wonderful companion. He has gotten along well with the other kittens and cats at the Shelter.

Being a rather large cat, he is quite energetic, so he would probably do best in a home with older children.

Jack’s Adoption includes:
🖤 Desexed
🖤 Vet checked
🖤 First vaccination
🖤 Microchipped
🖤 NZCAR registration
🖤 Worm/Flea treated
🖤 Current diet is Black Hawk Pet Care New Zealand
🖤 Jack Black is $260 to adopt
🖤 Meet Jack Petstock The Base

If you are renting your home, please take along your pet approved rental agreement.

Please take along your pet carry cage too.

Paw Justice, the team that has been championing New Zealand Rescues with support, friendship, always kindness and a shared desire to get in amongst communities, to help animals. One by one by one. The beauty of Paw Justice is their ability to link rescue organisations with support, encouragement and a real understanding of what each does. New Zealand animal welfare is held together by rescues up and down the country. There is no one else coming to save the thousands of kittens, cats, puppies and dogs. Thank you Paw Justice, from all of us!

The Paw Justice Food Bank program helps feed animals in need. So far the program has provided over 2 Million meals to animals in need and struggling communities affected by disaster. This tummy filling package went out to Paws 4 Life with a few other boxes of cat toys and litter trays from South Auckland Animal Rescue. Team work makes the dream work or should I say nightmare work. Dropping of the supplies to Paws and she had two cats turn up tied together with wool and then another four kittens turn up by a kind lady who saw them on a group chat, but the lady refused to let them have the 5th kitten which was female, so will no doubt have another litter and add to everyone else's problems again soon. Keep up the great work Paws 4 Life. The struggle is real people.

At Petstock Cambridge:

Say hello to the most lovable gentle giant, Barney! At 7kg, this big sweetheart might be on the heavier side, but he's an absolutely charming cat who's hoping to find his perfect family.

Barney is 6 years old and enjoys good health overall. He could benefit from dropping a bit of weight, which works best with weight management food and dental biscuits. Combine that with regular playtime and activity, and Barney will be in fantastic shape!

Barney is such a laid-back fellow that all the other animals at the shelter have given him plenty of affection and cuddles. He gets along wonderfully with other kittens and cats, and he's equally fantastic with people of all ages, including kids.

Barney is quite the snooze enthusiast who absolutely adores finding a cozy spot and a comfortable bed to curl up in.

Hello Spring……and every animal rescue gets an eye twitch! Why? Because out of control breeding with kittens and cats, both those that have homes and those that are stray, starts with vengeance.

Now is the time to take action. That stray cat that has been hanging around for a while, now is the time to get it sorted in just a few easy steps.

1. 🌸 Take a photo and advertise on your local community pages and the various lost & found pages.

2. 🌸 Ask your neighbours if it is safe to do so.

3. 🌸 Take the cat to your nearest vet clinic and their wonderful staff can scan for a microchip. If they have a microchip, they may be able to go home. No cost and no appointment needed. It takes just a few seconds.

4. 🌸 If no owner located after 7 days from advertising, please contact us and we can arrange to bring the kitten/cat into care.

As a rescue, we do have processes we need to follow.

❌ We cannot take in non-socialised/non-friendly animals.

Each situation is uniquely different to the next, so please do reach out to see if we can set up a plan.

We are open Monday-Saturday, 9am - 5pm.

What an incredible initiative from Kelly Oliver Photography!

Kelly generously offered to provide professional pet photography services in exchange for wet food donations to support the homeless kittens and cats arriving at the shelter this year.

Kelly connected with amazing pet owners and their beautiful companions, and then the fun began! The outcome? Absolutely gorgeous portraits that will become cherished keepsakes for these beloved pets and their families.

And the impact? A fantastic 1,680 wet food sachets were delivered!!!!

We're so grateful to everyone who participated—we hope you're thrilled with your portraits! And thank you for generously donating to our local shelter to help nourish the homeless kittens and cats.

If you've been thinking about getting pet portraits, family photos, or need a wedding photographer, reach out to Kelly Oliver Photography today.
