🥳 Mules Favourite thing to do: Pull off shoes, win ribbons (he gets a wee bit spicy if it is not a red one, and here I was thinking horses were colourblind). loves a cheeky buck too just for fun.
🥅 A little bit about yourself and your plans for the season ahead: We focus on showing, which is essentially a beauty pageant for horses, We have been doing it for 6 years and have been lucky to be in the top 5 at HOY and the Showing Nationals. We are very good at coming second!. This season is all about fun, we've ticked off all the major shows I ever dreamed of attending bar 2. We have just moved to a proper farm so I'm going to enjoy lots of hacking and let mule be a horse. Showing requires a lot of attention to detail and prep so its nice to let his mane get a little long and let him get muddy over winter.
🤤 What are you feeding and why at this time of the year as you prepare for the season? Consistency is key, you build your condition for summer in winter. I like to stick with easily available feeds made in NZ for NZ conditions. Mule lives on Dunstan feeds, a mix of Fibre Grow and Extruded Rice mixed with Chaff and Leg up Oil. He has Duwell Supplements, Vits n mins. Liquid Mag, Amino 3. We use Syncroflex Complete for joints and this has been fabulous. On show day I use Syncrocalm Ice and Syncrofen Express if we are travelling. I also use Fixine for gut health.
