Did you know the zoomies actually have a scientific name?
They are called FRAPs: Frenetic Random Activity Periods!

Zoomies are those sudden bursts of energy where dogs:
🐾 sprint around wildly
🐾 spin in circles
🐾 race from room to room

They often happen when dogs are:
🐾 excited
🐾 releasing built-up energy
🐾 feeling playful and happy
🐾 fresh after a bath 😅

Zoomies are completely normal and are usually a sign of a healthy, energetic dog. As long as they have a safe space to run, it’s all part of being a dog.

Did you know a dog’s tail does more than just wag?
When dogs run, jump, or make quick turns, their tail helps them balance and stabilise their body, almost like a built-in steering tool!!

Their tail helps dogs:
🐾 stay balanced during fast movement
🐾 change direction quickly
🐾 coordinate jumps and sharp turns
This is especially noticeable in active dogs during zoomies, agility, or high-speed play.
It’s another example of how cleverly dogs are built for movement and coordination.

Did you know dogs only have around 1,700 taste buds, compared to about 9,000 in humans? While dogs don’t experience flavour the same way we do, they still have strong preferences when it comes to food and treats.

Dogs tend to rely much more on:
🐾 smell
🐾 texture
🐾 temperature
than taste alone when deciding what they enjoy.

That powerful sense of smell plays a huge role in how they experience food, which is why some dogs can become so excited before they’ve even had a bite.

It’s also why variety in textures and scents can make enrichment even more engaging for them.
