When they’re first born, puppies rely almost entirely on their sense of touch and smell to find their mother and stay close to their litter.

During sleep, dogs go through different stages, including REM sleep, the stage where dreaming happens.

You might notice your dog:
🐾 twitching their paws
🐾 moving their legs
🐾 making small noises

This is often a sign they’re dreaming, possibly replaying moments from their day like playing, running, or exploring.
