UPDATE TIME!
We are really struggling at the moment. Sadly, as you know, we rely on fosters to run the rescue and if we don't get more fosters we just can't save/help more dogs.
Fosters come and go and we get that, it's called life. But at the moment we have a few dogs that need either medical or behavioural training and they are clogging up the foster network we do have. Some have been with us for over 6 months!
Unfortunately some foster applicants have cats or very young children and more often than not the incoming dogs are not suitable for those families.
We also have a couple of lovely boys, Zippy and Toby, and not one suitable application for them!! They are amazing boys!
It's heartbreaking and to be honest we are at a point where we ask ourselves how do we carry on?!
Anyway on to happier news:
DOG UPDATE:
Bella: I'm pleased to say that Bella's adoption is being finalised and she is slotting in well with her new family and brother Baxter. We are so thrilled for her! Bella was extremely popular and we're sorry to those who missed out. It's not you, it's us—we only had one Bella! 🙂
Akira: Akira is on trial at the moment and the updates so far are that she is making herself right at home! On the couch, on the bed, claiming her space and she is loving it!
What makes my heart sing the most and keeps us going is when we get updates on dogs who have already been adopted. Some come out of the blue and usually when we need it the most.
Poppy is loving beach life in her new home. We had to have one of her eyes removed due to the trauma she had received and now you wouldn't even know she has one missing! 😍
Miss Tilly, our Wanaka baby, is also living her best life. This girl was one of our hard ones but being in a loving home has really brough her out of her shell and she has learnt to trust. Luckily she has a great teacher in her best friend and brother Zeca. They have amazing campervan adventures and even got to ride in an Austin! Jealous!
