Happy 10th Birthday...to US!!!

That's right we are 10yrs old today (9 as a registered charity)!

So 10yrs means 70 dog years right? Sometimes it certainly feels like 70!

As I've said before we can't do it without you! Our supporters, volunteers, fosters, adopters, donators, suppliers, trainers and trustees! Like they say it takes a village and we certainly can't do it without you all.

Over those years we have rehomed hundreds of Rottweilers and each and every one of them is/was special and has taught us all so much about our breed and the state of dog ownership in NZ. While some dogs are rehomed for genuine reasons quite often dogs are dumped/abandoned and sometimes with nasty injuries or health conditions.

So thank you for making a difference for all the Rottweilers throughout NZ (and Rangi from Singapore!).

🥳🥳🥳 To celebrate you get the presents!! Every order from our shop over $50 (excl postage) with get a free keep cup featuring the gorgeous Bella and Capone!
EVERY order will also get a free RRRNZ logo car sticker.

What are you waiting for? Head to our shop now! (Items will be posted twice a week).

Will we last another 10yrs?? Watch this space!

‼️We will also have a colouring competition for the kids over the school holidays so keep an eye out for that post! ‼️

UPDATE TIME!

Last weekend saw our gorgeous Zippy (now Ziggy) head north to his new home. He travelled well although when it poured down on our p*e stop he refused to go. On arrival he had one of the longest p*e's I have ever seen!!

Ziggy took to his new Mum and Dad straight away. Same goes with new toy box—he managed to drag them all outside on the wet grass!! Ratbag. So far he's settling in well and learning boundaries.
Ziggy was lucky enough to have an amazing foster Mum and Grandpa that helped him. As for his foster sister Roxie (one of our rescues) she just loved an excuse to get up to mischief 🤣

On the way back I went straight past the door of our gorgeous Poppy 😍. (You may remember Poppy lost her eye due to trauma but is doing so well).
Well I just had to pop in and see how she was going with her human brother Isy. They are so close and he is teaching her new tricks so after my visit he now has a new one to try too hehe--I will test him again soon when I do Ziggy's follow up check! And while he is doing his dog duties he still doesn't have a handle on the poo pick up—doesn't like the warm feeling. I said well in winter it warms the hands up 😝

Keep up the good work Isy and thanks for the cuddles and kisses Miss Poppy!

Great to see you all again! 🥰

Kia ora Rottweiler hoa me te whanau.

Today as a country we celebrate the Maori New Year known as Matariki. While for some it is just a day off work for Māori, the appearance of Matariki heralds a time of remembrance, joy and peace. It is a time for communities to come together and celebrate.
Whether Maori or not if you live in NZ it's a great time to get together with friends, family, neighbours and of course our dogs to celebrate and remember.
If you are not sure exactly what Matariki is then click the link below 🙂

Our final boy to highlight this week is our regal boy Toby.

Toby is a true King, a real fighter considering what he has been through!

* Location: Auckland
* Male
* Age: 2-3yrs
* Kids: Over 8yrs
* Tail
* No cats
* Dogs-Yes

Toby is a beautiful, energetic and loving dog who is looking for his furever home through no fault of his own.

Toby loves his new humans and has come a long way since being with his foster family. Found in a remote location having walked miles from his home Toby had burnt and blistered paws and he was very malnourished. While the council knew of the owners and reached out to them they chose not to pick him up.

This gorgeous boy loves adventures and a car ride or walk is always top of his wishlist. He is quite smart but still has a few manners to learn so someone with patience and willingness to continue his training is a must.

Toby would thrive in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise and attention. He needs a family who appreciates his love for the outdoors and will include him in their adventures. Toby is ready to bring joy and companionship to his new family!

***WAHOO-I'm going on trial***

Meet our next young King-- Prince Zippy!!

Age – 13 months old
Location – Auckland
S*x – Male
Kids over 8 – Yes
Dogs – Yes
Cats – No

I was abandoned down south and my Aunties rescued me. I’m a sweet loving boy but still in the ratbag stage! 😎🤣
Yep I think I’m better than the rest and learning dog manners really well with my foster sister (also a rescue). My foster Mum is great at training me and making sure I pull my head in. I love adventures and the beach is one of my favourite spots.
I also love hanging at and playing with friends.
as I’m boisterous and a doggie sister would be awesome. She can keep me in check 😆
If you are looking for a handsome dude like me then click on the link and apply now!

UPDATE TIME!

We are really struggling at the moment. Sadly, as you know, we rely on fosters to run the rescue and if we don't get more fosters we just can't save/help more dogs.

Fosters come and go and we get that, it's called life. But at the moment we have a few dogs that need either medical or behavioural training and they are clogging up the foster network we do have. Some have been with us for over 6 months!

Unfortunately some foster applicants have cats or very young children and more often than not the incoming dogs are not suitable for those families.

We also have a couple of lovely boys, Zippy and Toby, and not one suitable application for them!! They are amazing boys!

It's heartbreaking and to be honest we are at a point where we ask ourselves how do we carry on?!

Anyway on to happier news:

DOG UPDATE:
Bella: I'm pleased to say that Bella's adoption is being finalised and she is slotting in well with her new family and brother Baxter. We are so thrilled for her! Bella was extremely popular and we're sorry to those who missed out. It's not you, it's us—we only had one Bella! 🙂

Akira: Akira is on trial at the moment and the updates so far are that she is making herself right at home! On the couch, on the bed, claiming her space and she is loving it!

What makes my heart sing the most and keeps us going is when we get updates on dogs who have already been adopted. Some come out of the blue and usually when we need it the most.

Poppy is loving beach life in her new home. We had to have one of her eyes removed due to the trauma she had received and now you wouldn't even know she has one missing! 😍

Miss Tilly, our Wanaka baby, is also living her best life. This girl was one of our hard ones but being in a loving home has really brough her out of her shell and she has learnt to trust. Luckily she has a great teacher in her best friend and brother Zeca. They have amazing campervan adventures and even got to ride in an Austin! Jealous!
