Kingsbury Cup 2026, hosted by Rakaia pony club. Tinwald had 3 teams (12 riders) competing in Kingsbury Cup and 4 juniors take part in the Junior dressage and Jumping.
Kingsbury Cup was started by Rakaia pony club, to encourage kids to participate in eventing. Its a club team competition between Rakaia, Methven, Mill Creek and Tinwald pony clubs.
We are so proud of all our riders today, some great individual results and first timers giving it a go.
While our teams didn't place, congratulations to Methven Pony Club who were the winners!🏆

Best presented- Lucy Moorhead (Junior) and Scarlett McDonnell (Senior)
Junior- Lucy Moorhead 1st, Darcy Sinton 2nd Heidi Quigley

Junior 30cm - Maisy Johns 3rd and winner best presented

Congratulations to Heidi Quigley and Amelia Brockhurst for passing their C certificate exams today. We'll done girls👌

Congratulations to our Tinwald Pony Club riders that participated at NZPCA Horse Trials Championships in Hastings over the weekend.
• Hannah Thickett and Dixie placed 10th in the Dorothy Campbell 105cm Championship
• Lucy Bennett & Village Gossip Girl placed 4th in Price Division 80cm Championship
• Mia Brook and Dingmac Fable placed 2nd in Mark Todd 95cm Championship

The Aoraki team placed 6th overall and also won the team Horse Management Award.
Mia & Eve Andrews won the Coaches award for the best 2 scores in MT with C Cert.
Other Aoraki team members had the following placings;
- Eve Andrews and Bingham (From Pleasant Point PC) placed 5th in Mark Todd 95cm Championship
- Mackenzie Paul 22nd
- Sophie Grenville-Jones 26th
- Evie Dale 9th
- Jane & JoJo 16th
- Lily Jessep & cricket placed 2nd in the dressage in the non champ 80cm class.

Canterbury came 4th and Otago Southland with BOP& WE combined team 5th
Great results from the whole South Island. Our riders put in a huge amount of training and preparation for this event.

Eternally grateful to coach Sharne Paton and manager Helen Andrews who’s meticulous attention to detail, passion for the growth of our sport and sense of humour brought us together as a team. I know there were hours and hours spent applying for funding and, ordering uniforms and doing paper work.
Our club is very proud of the girls and how well they went. Well done!
