Our last baby for the season, due in 10 days...
Out of my all time favourite mare Emma (Swedish Warmblood x American Spotted Draft), this foal will be a full brother or sister to ORF Marmaduke.
This will be Emma's very last baby, before her well earned retirement. She's the best mother I've ever seen, and would quite happily have babies until the day she dies. At 20yrs old though, her joints are struggling. So we're letting her have this last baby, and then she'll have to settle for being everyone else's babysitter 🥰

Very happy with this boy! He's big for a first foal, and little Minnie has been the perfect mum 🥰
He's got tiny flecks of white on his face, one sock with black dots, and a black spot on his bum 😅
Will be interesting to see if he roans out like his dad.
Minnie's owner is so happy with him, that Minnie has another date with Marmalade 😊

I feel like I always harp on about how quiet the Marmalade babies are 😅
But here's a perfect example... Visiting mare Minnie had her owner come to see her new baby. This is how friendly he was at 5hrs old 🥰

Topping paddocks this afternoon, on the ride on mower, while the thunderstorm heads our way 😅
Because A) we're not flash enough to have a proper tractor and mower... And B) the only time I can get things like this done, is when I fluke it and manage to get both kids to nap at the same time 🤣 And yes, I got hailed on and saturated but the paddock looks good 👌😂🙈

I've been very slack on updates this week, mainly due to sleep deprivation and sick kids 🤒🙈
Very happy and relieved about this positive scan though! Visiting mare Jezabell is in foal to Marmalade 🙌🎉
This girl was the first mare served after Marmalade had gotten kicked. Being uncomfortable meant we couldn't get a collection off him, so had to put all his AI orders on hold.
He seemed to still be happy serving naturally, and it was just a waiting game to see if he was back to his usually excellent fertility.
He's now back to feeling 100% 🙌 and I want to thank those people we had to disappoint, by not being able to send semen. Was so nice to have people more concerned about Marmalade's well being, rather than their breeding timeline. It's so easy to forget horses aren't machines, and there can always be a spanner thrown in the works.
