Nature Resource Solutions

Nature Resource Solutions NRS promotes Nature Farming, Healthy Living & partners local producers at NATURAL FARMERS' MARKETS. What have we created so far? Built 4 Nature Farms:

1.

Nature Resource Solutions is a social enterprise dedicated to developing viable livelihood options which are coherent with socio-economic, environmental and sustainability objectives. Its main focus is on healthy and affordable living, through:
• improved food available to consumers in markets, or in their own gardens, and
• the mindful use, reuse and regeneration of natural resources and locally

organic waste, that also improves our economy and environment. Nature Farming is relevant for both urban and rural communities. NRS encourages individuals and agencies to learn about the principles and techniques taught by reputed international motivators and practitioners such as:
• Ernst Götsch’s Syntropic AgroForestry,
• Masanobu Fukuoka’s Natural Farming and lifestyle movement,
• Cho Han-Kyu’s Korean Nature Farming,
• Cho Young-san’s JADAM,
• Elaine Ingham’s Soil Food Web, and many others. NRS collaborates with individuals, agencies and schools to promote Nature and Organic Farming through learning, experimentation and local adaptations. These partnerships have enabled us to do extension work with youth engaged in various college level agricultural training programs in Philippines, Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysian Borneo. At Angat, Bulacan, Philippines - with two farmers and 16 youth from GKEF (Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm) - the soil we built mainly from Banana stems, farm waste and JADAM Solutions remain the most productive and sustainable to date. (Researcher Cris). Since 2018.

2. At Lomunu, Penampang, Sabah, Malaysia. PACOS' GKC-SEED (Guwas Koposizon College -School for Experiential and Entrepreneurship Development) at . Created with 26 indigenous Orang Asal and Orang Asli youth/students . The Farm has organic chicken, duck, fish, a unique No-Smell piggery (modelled on JADAM), stingless bees, a Nursery, Food and Cash crops, since 2019. In Indonesia, a quiet revolution is happening at neighborhood food waste stations. These stations are set up in local markets, residential areas, and schools to collect leftover food, peels, and plate scraps. Instead of sending this waste to landfills, it undergoes a fermentation process using naturally occurring microbes that break it down into two highly useful byproducts — pet food and garden fertilizer.

The pet food, typically in pellet form, is given to local shelters and stray animal feeders, creating a nutritious cycle from human leftovers. Meanwhile, the fermented compost is rich in nutrients and used to support urban gardening efforts and small-scale agriculture. Families are even encouraged to take home the fertilizer to nourish their own balcony plants or backyard vegetables. This system ensures that nothing edible truly goes to waste, embracing a circular model where all organic matter finds a second life.

Community participation is central to the success of these stations. Residents are given simple guidelines on separating organic from non-organic waste, and workshops teach people how to contribute, collect, and even create mini fermenters at home. The smell is surprisingly minimal, thanks to sealed containers and effective microbial mixes, making it a clean, community-friendly solution.

These food waste stations are especially impactful in dense urban areas, where both food waste and hunger coexist. By transforming waste into resources for pets and plants, Indonesia is tackling multiple problems at once — waste management, animal welfare, and urban agriculture.

Let us step up support to local farmers to produce wholesome local veg for our healthy consumption. In Sarawak, some of us are pushing almost-no-cost organic farming using Korean & JADAM techniques. We also opened a platform for them to sell directly without Middlemen margins. This Market quadrupled (in terms of number of Sellers per market) in 2 years, indicating local demand and our efforts to inform local consumers and advocate healthy food choices are paying off.
