Dr Ad Vos, a wildlife biologist with over 30 years of experience in rabies control, is currently in Kuching supporting Sarawak’s large-scale intervention.

His work spans both free-roaming wildlife and domestic dog populations, using proven strategies applied across multiple countries.

Together with SSPCA, DVS, IBET, SIDC, World Veterinary Services, and Mission Rabies, the team has been implementing Oral Rabies Vaccination (ORV) for free-roaming and hard-to-catch dogs

It’s a method backed by decades of field experience, including successful use in wildlife like foxes to control rabies. Now, the same approach is being carried out here in Kuching with trained teams, monitored baiting, and proper tracking systems in place.

If you see field teams or yellow vaccine baits, please do not interfere, they are part of a coordinated effort to protect both animals and the community.
