Understanding Canine Arthritis

Canine arthritis is a progressive degenerative joint condition that can significantly impact a dog's mobility and quality of life.
Early identification of clinical signs, combined with appropriate veterinary assessment and tailored management strategies, can help reduce discomfort and support long-term well-being.

Key signs include:
• Limping
• Reduced activity
• Changes in gait
• Difficulty rising or lying down
• Unexplained weight loss

If you notice any of these symptoms, consult your veterinarian for a comprehensive evaluation.

🐾 Small care, big difference 🩵

As dogs get older, even the smallest details can make a huge difference in their comfort and mobility.
One often overlooked area is the hair growing between the paw pads.

Keeping the fur between the pads trimmed can help senior dogs:
▫️ improve grip and stability
▫️ reduce slipping on smooth floors
▫️ walk with more confidence
▫️ relieve unnecessary pressure on joints
▫️ improve balance and posture
▫️ move more comfortably and safely
▫️ reduce the risk of falls and injuries
▫️ feel more secure during daily walks

This simple grooming step is not just about aesthetics, it’s about wellbeing, safety, and quality of life. 🐕✨

Especially in elderly dogs, small acts of care can support better movement and help them enjoy their daily routine with less effort and more confidence. 🤍

A few minutes of care can truly make every step lighter. 🐾

Have you ever thought about how important movement is for your pet’s health? 🐾

Veterinary physiotherapy is not just a “treatment” ,it’s a way to truly improve your animal’s quality of life.

Movement is the foundation of everything: it keeps joints healthy, builds muscle strength, and supports both physical and mental well-being.

Even small exercises can make a big difference over time.

Is your pet active every day? 🐶🐱
Tell us their name in the comments and what daily activities you do together!

Happy International Akita Day! 🐕

Today, we honor the legacy of Hachiko, the global symbol of a loyalty that knows no bounds. But for those of us in veterinary rehabilitation, the greatest loyalty is the one we owe to them: protecting their quality of life.

Akitas are majestic, powerful, and incredibly resilient. However, their imposing build and genetics make them "silent athletes" who often mask discomfort until it becomes a significant challenge.
Understanding the physical hurdles of the breed isn't about fear, it's about prevention.
An Akita that walks with dignity into its senior years is the result of conscious management, early monitoring, and proactive care.

Why is prevention the ultimate act of loyalty?
🔹 CLINICAL AWARENESS: Recognizing early signs of hip dysplasia or neurological issues allows for intervention while tissues are still highly reactive.
🔹 MOVEMENT IS LIFE: Maintaining muscle tone and proprioception means shielding joints from excessive wear and tear.
🔹 DIGNITY & STOICISM: Akitas are stoic; they don't complain easily. Learning to "read" subtle changes in how they stand or move is vital.
🔹 A MULTIMODAL APPROACH: Health isn't just surgery or meds; it's environment management, targeted exercise, and consistent care.

Their loyalty is ageless.
Their mobility can be too, if we learn to protect it today.

Does your loyal companion show signs of stiffness or unusual fatigue?
Don't wait for the problem to become obvious.
Knowledge is the first step toward a pain-free life.

Drop a comment or send us a DM to learn more about how preventive management can change your Akita's future. 📩
