Seventeen years changes your perspective on what growth actually means.
VONFIDEL K9 began in 2009. Since then, we have had the privilege of working with more than 1,500 dogs and, just as importantly, the handlers and owners responsible for them.
There have been straightforward dogs and difficult ones. Young dogs finding their feet, working dogs with a job to do, behavioural cases requiring patience and judgement, and owners prepared to put in the work alongside us. Some stayed with us for weeks. Many relationships lasted for years.
That body of experience has shaped the decision we are making now.
We will no longer accept new clients for general or residential dog training.
Every existing commitment will be honoured in full. Our work with dogs will also continue, but more selectively, through specialist consultancy, temperament and behavioural evaluation, complex cases, working-dog matters and situations where experience and independent judgement can genuinely contribute something useful.
This was not a decision driven by a lack of work. Quite the opposite.
There comes a point when doing more is not necessarily the same as doing better. We would rather devote our time to work where our experience matters most than pursue volume for its own sake.
And so VONFIDEL K9 moves into a different chapter.
Vonfidel itself is moving forward too, bringing together a wider body of work that now extends beyond where we began. Different disciplines, certainly, but held to the same principles: responsibility, sound judgement, discretion, and a willingness to walk away rather than compromise the standard.
To the dogs that taught us, the handlers who worked beside us, and the owners who placed their trust in us over the years: thank you.
The work continues. Just differently.
