JSPCA Animals' Shelter Preventing cruelty, promoting knowledge, and providing for aged, sick, lost and unwanted animals.

*** Please note that when our Reception is closed you can call our ambulance driver on 07797 720331 ***

The JSPCA’s mission is to prevent cruelty, promote knowledge and provide for the aged, sick, injured and unwanted animals of Jersey. We have been serving the local community for over 150 years, since the JSPCA was founded in 1968. The Jersey Animals' Shelter itself was founded in 1913 by Miss F

rances Elizabeth Wilson, who was appalled by the number of domestic animals found washed up on the Island's beaches, having been drowned by owners unable to care for them. We have an ambulance service that operates 24 hours and day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, so you can call us for advice or support either through our Reception during our opening hours or our ambulance driver during the evening, Sundays and bank holidays.

This beautiful Marsh harrier has had a very lucky escape! ✈️

He was brought into our care after reportedly being struck by a plane at the airport. It is believed he was caught in the turbulence and thrown to the ground, resulting in a significant impact.

Remarkably, he survived the ordeal and is now receiving careful veterinary treatment, along with plenty of much-needed rest and rehabilitation. 💚

Success Story 🐾

We’ve had a lovely update from Smushie's new family letting us know how she is getting on in her new home. Smushie was one of our long-term residents, patiently waiting for the perfect family to come along. Her ongoing medical needs may have played a part, but so did her larger-than-life personality, she knew her boundaries and wasn’t afraid to make them clear!

Thankfully, the right people saw just how special she is and gave her the chance she deserved. Now, Smushie is finally settled in a loving home where she can be happy, comfortable, and cherished. Big thank you to Smushies new family for adopting her and sharing her story:

"She has been with you guys since September, and I’m so glad she’s got a home now. She can be cheeky but she is a very loving cat and she deserves a second chance. She will come and sit on the sofa in the evening and sometimes even on us, she has taken to licking my arm when she’s laying on the sofa next to me. I’m actually quite surprised how quickly she has adjusted and she seems to be doing well and is comfortable in her new home. I hope her story will lead to more people taking a chance on adopting a cat or any other animal, even with medical conditions, in the long term her medication and the vet visits make it all worth it to see her happy and thriving. Thank you for all your help to all of your team!"

Meet Toffee & Pebbles

These two beautiful Lionhead lop rabbits are searching for a loving forever home through our Home 2 Home Scheme.

Toffee & Pebbles are both female rabbits that are over 1 year old. The pair is fully vaccinated with no known health issues. They have lived with and are comfortable around children. Toffee and Pebbles are bonded, so they will need to be rehomed together.

Toffee & Pebbles are looking for a caring family who can provide them with plenty of space, enrichment, and love. They would thrive in a home committed to meeting the needs of bonded rabbits and giving them the happy future they deserve.

If you think you could offer Toffee & Pebbles the forever home they are looking for, please fill in an application form on our website: https://jspca.org.je/register-to-rehome/

Toffee & Pebbles are being rehomed through our home-to-home scheme. This means we don’t undertake any official medical or behavioural assessments, but we are supporting their owner to try and find them the perfect match. If we think you’ll make a good match, we will share your contact details with the current owner. They will be in touch if they would like to discuss the adoption further and potentially arrange to meet.
