The JSPCA’s mission is to prevent cruelty, promote knowledge and provide for the aged, sick, injured and unwanted animals of Jersey. We have been serving the local community for over 150 years, since the JSPCA was founded in 1968. The Jersey Animals' Shelter itself was founded in 1913 by Miss F

rances Elizabeth Wilson, who was appalled by the number of domestic animals found washed up on the Island's beaches, having been drowned by owners unable to care for them. We have an ambulance service that operates 24 hours and day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, so you can call us for advice or support either through our Reception during our opening hours or our ambulance driver during the evening, Sundays and bank holidays.

We are looking for a home for two beautiful corn snakes, Ginger and Phil. Ginger is 15 years old and Phil is 14 years old. We'd like to rehome them as soon as possible. They can be rehomed together or separately and they each have their own vivarium.

The snakes are being rehomed as part of our Home to Home scheme. This means they will be rehomed from their current home and not directly from the Shelter. We are supporting Ginger and Phil’s owner to try and find them the perfect match. If we think you’d make a good match, we will share your contact details with the current owner. They will be in touch if they would like to discuss the adoption further, and potentially arrange to meet.

Treats ☑️

Lola is groomed every day to keep her beautiful coat in good shape. A coat this long can get tangled easily so daily brushing and coat care is essential.

Our wonderful team are working to help Lola stay calm and comfortable as she’s not the biggest fan of being groomed. One of the techniques they use is to give her the choice to be groomed, or try again at a later time. This is great for building trust and helping her to know we understand her requests.

Adopt Mario and Moko

These two adorable boys are on the hunt for a new home. They're approximately 4 years old and are very happy exploring, playing, munching on veggies together.

In their new home, they will need lots of activities, toys and tunnels for them to play, burrow and hide. They can live with children - an adult will need to help with handling, cleaning and general care. We're happy for Mario and Moko to live with other pets such as cats and dogs. They will need to be supervised when let out and have a secure cage to keep them safe.

Weighing just 3 grams, this tiny baby Shrew was brought into our care at around 6 days old. He was hand-fed kitten milk with a paintbrush for the first few days and given round-the-clock care. 🍼

After two weeks and with the help of many worms, this little baby had doubled in size and was ready to be released.

Ginger is on the search for a caring new family. He is 13 years old, enjoys company and being stroked. He will let you know when he's had enough love and is ready to be left alone. He is not a fan of being picked up.

Ginger is active and will need outdoor access in his new home. He can live with children over the age of 12, depending on introductions. He will need to be the only pet in the house.
